Todd Frech is a Senior Implementation Manager at Adaptive Biotechnology, Inc., a molecular diagnostics company based in Seattle, WA. Todd began his career in the U.S. Navy as an EMT before becoming a laboratory technologist and working in various Navy healthcare settings around the world. He was awarded the Navy Achievement Award for his work running a medical laboratory onboard an actively deployed aircraft carrier. In 2002, he founded Ocius Medical Informatics, LLC to provide informatics consulting to companies developing products in the biopharmaceutical medical laboratory, and genetics markets. After 20 years, Todd accepted a position with CareDx to lead a team developing new ways to connect healthcare providers with molecular diagnostics information used in the management of transplant patients. Todd is a graduate of the Naval School of Health Sciences and the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Outside of work, Todd volunteers for the American Red Cross as an emergency shelter manager and as a certified Peer Visitor for the Amputee Coalition of America. He lives in Charleston, SC close to his daughter and grandsons, where he has a passion for cooking and the history and origins of traditional southern cuisine. Ken Washington is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology and Innovation Officer. In his role, he is responsible for accelerating Medtronic innovation through product development and technology strategies. Ken joined Medtronic in 2023 and brought with him deep expertise in leading technology development and execution across industries including robotics, consumer products, automotive, and space. Prior to joining Medtronic, Ken was Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Robotics at Amazon. And, before that, he was Chief Technology Officer at Ford Motor Company, overseeing development of the company’s technology strategy including next-generation vehicle architectures, controls and automated systems. He also spent seven years at Lockheed Martin in various leadership roles including Chief Technology Officer, Chief Privacy Officer and Vice President, Advanced Technology Center, Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. Ken is an internationally recognized thought leader on technology and innovation. He earned a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, and a PhD in nuclear engineering from Texas A&M University. He was inducted into the National Academy of Engineering in 2020 and was inducted into the Black Engineer Hall of Fame in 2023.
