2. 2 WHAT IS A VERB? A verb is a word which is used to tell something about some person or thing. OR A verb is a word that shows action.

5. 5 TRANSITIVE VERB: A transitive verb is a verb that denotes an action which passes over from the subject (Doer) to an object. OR A transitive verb has a definite object on which or, for which the action is being performed.

6. 6 EXAMPLES: 1. She made pizza. SHE= SUBJECT MADE= TRANSTIVE VERB PIZZA= OBJECT 2. The boy cut his hand with a knife. BOY= SUBJECT CUT= TRANSITIVE VERB HAND= OBJECT 3. The policeman blew his whistle. POLICEMAN= SUBJECT BLEW= TRANSITIVE VERB WHISTLE= OBJECT

7. 7 INTRANSITIVE VERB: An intransitive verb is a verb that denotes an action which does not pass over to an object. OR An intransitive verb also shows action but here there is no specific object on which the action is being done.
