3. Function of Trichomes: Ion exchange, Protective, secretion of essential oil, absorption of water.

4. Different types of trichomes: 1 ) Covering or non glandular trichomes : a. Lignified trichomes b. Short, sharpy , pointed, curved c. Large, Conical and shrunken d. Short, conical, warty

5. 2)   Covering- trichomes (Multi cellular) a)   T. shaped trichomes (I)Covering unbranched trichomes a. Bi-cellular, conical b. Three celled long c. Four to five celled long (II) Covering branched trichomes
