Tuberculosis (TB)
TB is a disease caused by a bacterium called
Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
The bacteria usually attack the lungs, but TB bacteria can
attack any part of the body such as the kidney, spine, and
brain. If not treated properly, TB disease can be fatal.
Symptoms of TB:
Typical symptoms of TB include:
A Persistent cough that lasts more than three weeks
and usually brings up phlegm, which may be bloody
1) Weight loss
2) Night sweats
3) High temperature (fever)
4) Tiredness and fatigue
5) Loss of appetite
6) New swellings that haven't gone away after a
few weeks.
