Mesenchymal (vs) Epithelial
•Mesenchymal cells are able to develop into the tissues of the
lymphatic and circulatory systems, as well as connective tissues
throughout the body, such as bone and cartilage. A malignant cancer
of mesenchymal cells is a type of sarcoma
•Epithelial (epi- + thele + -ium) is one of the four basic types of animal
tissue, along with connective tissue, muscle tissue and nervous tissue.
Epithelial tissues line the cavities and surfaces of blood vessels and
organs throughout the body.
