2 Types of Movable Joints 1. Pivot joint – Allows you to turn your head to the left and right. It is located at the point where a bone of the head meets the neck bone. Pivot joints allow limited movements only.

3 2. Hinge joints – It let you bend your fingers. You can also rotate, bend, and straighten your arms and legs because of hinge joints. T he knee and the elbow are modified hinge joints.

4 3. Ball-and-socket joint - Is where your upper arm bone meets your shoulder bone. This joint allows you to move your arms sideward, forward, and backward. A ball-and-socket joint can also be found between the upper leg and hip.

5 4.Gliding joints – The joints between vertebrae. These joints enable the vertebrae to do limited twisting, turning, or sliding.
