2. Introduction to the software Software is a collection of computer readable programs that tells the computer what to do and how to do . Software are intangible in nature. Or Software is a general term for the various types of programs that is used to operate a computer or other device. Software are of three types:- System Software Application Software 3) Utility Software

4. System Software System Software are the software’s which provide a interface between user and the computer hardware It manages computer hardware and processes that takes place in the computer. Without system software the other software cannot run because system software create the platform at which other softwares run. Some examples of System software:- Operating system, assemblers, Compilers etc.

5. Operating System Operating System controls the computer hardware and provide service access to the hardware programs. It also manages computer operations and task such as log on, log off and shutting down. Some latest operating system that are released by Microsoft and G oogle are Windows 10 and Android Marshmallow

6. Windows Windows is a type of operating system. Windows controls just about everything in our computer. Windows is a Graphical user interface or GUI. It means a interface that use graphics instead of typing commands or instructions like MS- DOS.

7. Application Software Application Software are those software which are programmed for specific tasks. Application software run in a envoirment created by system software. Application software designed by any organisation or firms for their purposes. Some examples of application software:- Spreadsheets Word processors, etc.

8. Microsoft Office Microsoft office is an application software that contains Excel, Power point, word, outlook, OneNote etc. It is used for creating business documents, Presentations, Spreadsheets etc. the latest Microsoft office designed by Microsoft corporation is office 365. Office 365

9. Interface of MS Excel Ms Excel is also known as spreadsheet. It is used for analysing the data.

10. Utility Software Utility Software consist of programs which are designed to help with the maintenance of the computer and ensure that it works correctly and efficiently. Some Examples of Utility Software:- Anti-Virus program Disk Fragmenter Firewall Program

11. Virus Viruses are computer program that replicates itself without user intervention in a computer system. It is very harmful for computer. It comes through USB, CD/DVD, Internet etc. Some common viruses are Trojan horse, worm etc. Computer Virus

12. Anti-Virus Program Anti-Virus program is a type of utility software. It protect the computer against virus and other threats. It repair, remove and quatrain the viruses. A good antivirus program always check for viruses and errors in the background. Some examples of Anti-Virus are:- E-set, Norton, K7, AVG, Avast , Quick heal etc.
