4. INTRODUCTION WELDING :- Welding is a process of joining two metals by means of heat and pressure using a device called as welding torch. Welding is the most common and economically used joining process in Industries and workshops. In this presentation we will study few of most widely used welding joints and we will study different welding joint symbols that are used in making working drawing also.

5. Butt Joint Butt joint is a between two members which are aligned approximately in the same plane.

6. Lap Joint Lap joint is a joint between two members which are overlapping.

7. Edge Joint Edge joint is a joint between two or more parallel or nearly parallel members.

8. Corner Joint Corner joint is a joint between two members which are located at right angles to each other.

9. Tee - Joint Tee joint is a joint between two members located approximately at right angles to each other in the form of a “T”.
