DEFINITION Procedure text is a text that explains how to make something or do something based on a series of steps

PURPOSE The purpose of a text procedure is to ensure consistency, efficiency, and accuracy in carrying out a specific task or job.

GENERIC STRUCTURES 1. Title / Goal This section provides a brief overview of what will be explained in the procedural text.

2. Materials or Tools Needed: This section explains the materials or tools required to carry out the procedure. For example, if the procedure is about how to make a cake, this section will explain the necessary ingredients such as flour, sugar, eggs, and so on. GENERIC STRUCTURES

3. Steps This section explains the steps in detail on how to carry out the procedure. The steps are usually arranged in chronological or sequential order . GENERIC STRUCTURES

LANGUAGE FEATURES 1. Use of Imperative Verbs: Procedural texts often use imperative verbs to give instructions to the reader. For example, " Mix the ingredients well" or " Cut the vegetables into thin slices."

2.Use of Action Verbs Procedural texts frequently use action verbs t o explain the steps that need to be taken. Examples: stir, boil, slice, saute , and so on. LANGUAGE FEATURES
