UMACE & UMACE-VIP are the memory and cognitive screening tools developed in India studying varied populations - illiterate, Psychiatric disorders, neurology populations between 2009-2015, and was awarded International research funding to standardize by Capacity Australia. UMACE-VIP screening supports visually impaired to understand cognitive deficit. These are the only tests available that can assess any population across the globe, without any limitations & biases.
The screening tools provide detail cognitive assessment useful for neuropsychiatric evaluation for epilepsy surgery and other brain surgeries, helping caregivers/clinicians/surgeons for better decision making.

“ Umace ” – background (developed and standardized, with int. research funding award, capacity Australia, sydney year 2009-2015) The UMACE test has been developed in three research parts each part different sample data has been studied towards gathering reliable results. The first part has been about the item structuring and administering the test on the literate and illiterate criteria of normal groups, ages 18+ comparing with MMSE for test validation. the second part the UMACE test has been administered for the Psychiatric patients ages 18+ to investigate about the cognitive impairment comparing with MMSE. the third part the UMACE test has been used for the patients with neurological disorders, ages 18+, the large number of populations at a high risk of developing cognitive impairments early to severe stage and in younger age www.mentalhealthaims.com
“ Umace ” – background (developed and standardized, with int. research funding award, capacity Australia, sydney year 2009-2015) The neurological patient population includes - patients with Migraine with aura and without aura, Vertigo, Epilepsy, Seizure disorder, Stroke, Parkinson disease, Brain diseases Other Neurological Disorder group that included disorders as Tolosa Hunt syndrome, Trigeminal neuralgia, Fibromyalgia, Cauda equina syndrome, Cervical myelopathy, Motor neuron disease, Dyskinesia, Generalized myasthenia gravis, Lumbar canal stenosis, Vascular claudication, Large fiber neuropathy, dystonia and demyelinating diseases. Most of the neurological patients belong to adult and elderly groups Young adult population found in Migraine patients more as compared to other groups, and epilepsy population found to have the longest years lived with disability comparing to other groups. www.mentalhealthaims.com
“ Umace ” – background (developed and standardized, with int. research funding award, capacity Australia, sydney year 2009-2015) The aim for developing UMACE tool is to detect memory and cognitive impairments at an early stage in all population without keeping any cut off score criteria based on education, culture and disability (except IQ below 70). The questions are based on the understanding level of the local population and are asked in their regional language. The words used in the memory recall tasks are commonly used words and easy to pronounce that do not create distress among the illiterate population while responding to the verbal tasks. www.mentalhealthaims.com
“ Umace ” – background (developed and standardized, with int. research funding award, capacity Australia, sydney year 2009-2015) scoring is based on uniform criteria considering the fact that the cognitive impairment do not discriminate on the level of literacy & disability www.mentalhealthaims.com
“ Umace ” – background “ Umace ” – background (developed and standardized, with int. research funding award, capacity Australia, sydney year 2009-2015) The verbal tasks specifically designed to test the participants with aphasia, post stroke speech disability so that the test could be administered without any biases. The tasks involved in motor coordination are administered applying uniform scoring method Special test material designed for persons having skeletal or muscular weaknesses The instructions are flexible for the post-stroke patients and for other patients with motor disability considering the hemiparesis, for e.g. the instructions for hand may be different. www.mentalhealthaims.com

The currency counting and five figure sequence tasks is based on the “Advanced perception studies for complex cognitive functions” comprises multiple cognitions for detecting mild cognitive impairment Special task of Path finding has been useful in supporting the clinical diagnosis of neurological conditions such as subcortical dementia and parkinsonism/Parkinson’s disease Currently “ umace ” screening is helping to understand cognitive deficit in post-covid populations after we do quick screening with newly developed “ neurocog ” especially for post-covid populations “ umace ” & “ umace-vip ” are the exclusive tests, used and recommended for neuropsychiatric evaluation for epilepsy & other pre-post brain surgery, post- tbi , all dementia profiles for neuropsychological evaluation www.mentalhealthaims.com
