UMACE & UMACE-VIP are the memory and cognitive screening tools developed in India studying varied populations - illiterate, Psychiatric disorders, neurology populations between 2009-2015, and was awarded International research funding to standardize by Capacity Australia. UMACE-VIP screening supports visually impaired to understand cognitive deficit. These are the only tests available that can assess any population across the globe, without any limitations & biases.
The screening tools provide detail cognitive assessment useful for neuropsychiatric evaluation for epilepsy surgery and other brain surgeries, helping caregivers/clinicians/surgeons for better decision making.

The first part has been about the item structuring and administering the test on the literate and illiterate criteria of normal groups, ages 18+ comparing with MMSE for test validation. the second part the UMACE test has been administered for the Psychiatric patients ages 18+ to investigate about the cognitive impairment comparing with MMSE. the third part the UMACE test has been used for the patients with neurological disorders, ages 18+, the large number of populations at a high risk of developing cognitive impairments early to severe stage and in younger age www.mentalhealthaims.com

The questions are based on the understanding level of the local population and are asked in their regional language.
