ASPECT: It is the positioning of different rooms in the house according to their functional requirement. It also involves positioning of doors and windows in the external walls of the building .

PROSPECT: It is the arrangement of windows in the external walls of the building so as to see certain desired views and avoid undesired views from inside. The desired view prospect can be achieved by projecting windows.

PRIVACY Privacy of the building is obtained by providing windows at higher levels than adjoining road or ground as well as by growing plants and trees around the building. Privacy of one room from other can be achieved by proper grouping of rooms or by positioning of doors in the walls

ROOMINESS: It is obtained by adjusting length to breadth ratio between 1.2 to 1.5. Square rooms always appear smaller than rectangular rooms of the same size. Movable furniture can meet more functional requirements of the room. GROUPING: It is the arrangement of various to co-ordinate functions of rooms and movement of the users. Example: Kitchen and dining room should be adjacent sanitary block should be near to the bedroom

CIRCULATION: It is the movement inside the building in horizontal and vertical direction. Horizontal circulation is provided by passages. Vertical circulation with the help of centrally located staircase, ramps, lifts, escalators etc. ELEGANCE: It is the effect produced by elevation. It depends on proportion of height and width of the building and choice of material and colour of building.

SANITATION: It includes provision of light, ventilation, cleanliness, water supply and sanitary amenities. ORIENTATION: It means positioning the total building such a direction to take maximum benefits from nature. Long walls are provided to north and south and short walls in east and west direction to reduce area exposed to sunrays.

ECONOMY: The economy is achieved using technique of construction management. The policy to be adopted is to suit the functional utility, comfort and cost of the structure. Economy may be achieved by using locally available materials to suit the local environmental conditions and use of locally available labour.
