Universality of management

Meaning Managerial knowledge can be transferred from one person to another person from one firm to another firm in the same country and from one country to another country .This transferability of management is meaningful only when it has universal applicability.

Transmission of management knowledge may be undertaken as : 1.By managers from an industrially developed country working in developing country 2. By people from a developing country coming to study and working in industrially advanced country and returning back to their own country 3. Through training and development programs for managers in a developing country

why do we need it ? Figure head: The management perform capabilities which are ceremonial and symbolic in nature .These includes greeting visitors attempt ion ,social function and handling out merit certificates to outstanding employees

Monitor : The management constantly collects the information about the factors which effect the organization. Dissemination: the management distributes the information to the subordinates .

Disturbance handler: management is required to handle those certain factors and events which act as disturbance to the organization equilibrium and working. Resource allocator : A management allocates resources of human ,physical ,financial ,to various organizational units according to their needs .

Management as process Management as a process is found in all organization activities irrespective of country ,culture or size ,only the intensity of a particular element may differ depending on the variable affecting management practises .

Distinction between management fundamentals and techniques

Management fundamentals are the basic principles and theories while management techniques are the tools for forming managerial function management techniques may differ from country ,fundamentals will remain the same

Management is both science and art ,most productive art is based on an understanding of the science underlying it .The art of managing or the practice of managing makes use of organized knowledge that is science .
