OBJECTIVES of the EXERCISE Updation of the Canal network in the entire state. Updation of Command Boundaries under Major and Medium Projects. To submit the Canal network and Command boundaries under the Ongoing Projects in the state. Verify & Authenticate the above boundaries from TEnCs/TCEs for further preparation of maps in the future.
KML (Keyhole markup Language) . kml (Keyhole Markup Language) is a file format created by Keyhole company. Keyhole was acquired by Google and implemented .kml in its maps making it popular with Google Earth. Easier to access Can be checked with ground data with google earth satellite image in the background Helps in faster decision making.
Canal Network kml Files (1) Open Google Earth Untick the Places and Borders and Labels in the bottom left pane.
Canal Boundary kml Files (2) Open the Canal Boundary file. (Ex: Bayyaram Canals) which is now under Temporary Places.
Canal Boundary kml Files (3) Dropdown the Bayyaram file to display the folder of the Canal.
Canal Boundary kml Files (4) Dropdown the folder to show nodes of the file. Right - Click on the node you want to change or edit and select Properties to get the following window.
Canal Boundary kml Files (5) Zoom in for better understanding of the ground and using the nodes, make the changes by altering the Red points. After making sufficient changes, give a Name to the Placemark for future reference and then click on Ok.
Canal Boundary kml Files (6) Later, Right click on the Main file as shown and then click on “ Save Place As ” Using the dialog box, save the place to the desired location with .kml format.
Command Boundary(1) Open the Command Boundary kml file of the required project (Ex: Bayyaram Project)

Uploading in TSIMIS(1) The updated .kml files will have to be uploaded through the TSIMIS portal.
Uploading in TSIMIS(2) The submitted kml files will be treated as authentic.Hence, utmost care should be taken while providing the details through the files. The TEnCs/TCEs office will have to consolidate and merge all the files from the Division/SubDivision Offices in their jurisdiction and upload only a single file in the TSIMIS portal from their respective logins.
