There Are a total Of four type of vices
1.Bench vice
2.Pipe vice
3.Pin vice
4.Hand vice

Bench viceBench vice
Bench vice is also called as
engineer’s parallel-jaw bench
vice.
There are two types generally
available in bench vice.
1.Swivel Base
2.Fixed Base
Swivel base vice is used in tool room, that the work can be located any
desired position.
Fixed base vice is used in workshop. The base of the fixed base vice is
permanently fixed on the working table with the help of nut and bolt
arrangement. It is made up of cast iron.

Pipe VicePipe Vice
As the name suggests pipe vice is
used for holding pipes and round bars
for cutting, threading. It is generally
used in plumbing work. The main body
of the pipe vice is made of cast iron. It
consist of two jaws, one is fixed and
the other is movable. The movable jaw
slides inside the fixed one through a
screw and box nut arrangement. The
fixed jaw is fixed on wooden plate. On
fixed jaw ‘V’ notches are provided for
increasing gripping power. It gripes the
round stock at four points.

Pin VicePin Vice
It is used by watchmakers to hold small wire or pin for repairing the
watch. It consist of a handle and a chuck, chuck knurling is provided
for gripe. Inside the chuck three jaws are provided for gripe the small
wire or pin. when chuck is rotated clockwise three jaws comes forward
and gripe the wire or pin from all side firmly. When chuck is rotated
anti-clockwise direction three jaws go back away from each other and
leave the wire or pin from the jaws of pin vice.

Hand viceHand vice
Hand vice is generally used
by key makers; it is used to
hold small things for cutting
or filling purpose. It consist
of two jaws, one is movable
and other is fixed. Both jaws
are pivoted at one end.
Other end of both the jaws is
brought together whenever
required with the help of bolt
and wing nut. In between
two jaws a spring is
provided.
it is made up of cast iron.
