BRGY and SK Election WEEK 1-DAY 1

Parts of the Male Reproductive System and their Functions WEEK 1-DAY 2

Reminder: The lesson that we’re going to discuss is a sensitive topic, be open minded for all the pictures that you will see and all the terms or words that you will learn.

Directions: Arrange the jumble letters. GANOR - PENSI - GINAVA – ORGAN PENIS VAGINA

How do living things reproduce?   Let’s discuss about it!

Observe the picture below:

Reproduction Is an important life process for all living things because it ensures the continuity of life. Human , animals and plants have one thing in common. They all Reproduce.

The Human Reproductive System

We have the two categorized human reproductive organ:   The male reproductive organ/system and the Female Reproductive Organ/system.   Let’s focus first on the Male Reproductive System.

The Male Reproductive system has only one function, and all the organs of this system function together to complete this one task. This task is to produce the male half of the genetic code and deliver it into the female.

Parts of the Male Reproductive System

Scrotum A pair of pouchlike sacs that contains the testes. It also controls the testes’ temperature because they must be slightly cooler than the body to produce sperm cells. (singular, Testis) are the glands that produce the sperm cells and the male sex hormone call testosterone. Testes Scrotum Testis

Epididymis The epididymis is narrow, coiled tube that stores sperm cells. A long, muscular tube that serves as the passageway of the sperm cells released from the testes. Vas Deferens Epididymis Vas Deferens

Prostate Gland A gland located between the bladder and the penis. It produces fluid that nourishes and protects the sperm. Saclike pouches attached to the vas deferens. It contributes to the semen production, a sugar-rich fluid which provides energy for the sperm cell’s motility. Seminal Vesicles Prostate Gland Seminal Vesicles

Urethra The urethra in a male is the passageway of both urine from the urinary bladder and semen from the glands. Also called bulbourethral gland , two pea-sized organs found beneath the prostate gland. It is responsible for releasing fluid that flushes out foreign matters and neutralizes the acidic urine in the urethra. Cowper’s Gland Urethra Cowper’s Gland

Penis Is the external male organ with a tip called glans . It is covered with foreskin that may be removed through circumcision. Glans Penis

Label or name the following parts. Penis Testis Glans Urethra Prostate Gland Vas Deferens Seminal Vesicles Cowper’s Gland Epididymis Scrotum

Describe the following parts. 1. Testes - 2. Vas Deferens- 3. Epididymis- 4. Seminal Vesicle- 5. Urethra- Round shape or produce sperm Long muscular tube Storage of sperm cells Gives energy to the sperm Passage way of urine and sperm

Should a boy be circumcised?   It is important to be circumcised if a man doesn’t know how to take good care of himself, because an uncircumcised man can be easily infected with bacteria. A man may prefer uncircumcised if he doesn’t want it and he knows how to take good care of his reproductive system .

What are the different parts or the male reproductive System?   How would you care about your reproductive organ?

Choose your answer on the box base on the given description below. A. Vas Deferens D. Testes B. Urethra E. Scrotum C. Penis   1. The passageway of urine from the urinary bladder and semen from the glands.

Care for the Male Reproductive System WEEK 1-DAY 5

Label or name the following parts. Penis Testis Glans Urethra Prostate Gland Vas Deferens Seminal Vesicles Cowper’s Gland Epididymis Scrotum REVIEW

Observe the picture.   What is in the picture?   It is Sperm

Watch the video using the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zF1oXOitedE What did you watch?

Sperm Is the male reproductive cell. A man can release millions of sperm cells but only one is needed for fertilization.

The sperm cell has parts such as: Head, Midpiece and T ail. Ejaculation Process of releasing sperm cells.

The flow of the sperm Cells:   The sperm cells produced from the Testes , if not release it will be stored at the Epididymis . During ejaculation, the sperm cells will be released and passes through the Vas Deferens down to Seminal Vesicles that gives energy for the sperms to travel as it passes the Prostate G land for nourishment and release through Urethra .

testes Epididymis Vas Deferens Seminal Vesicles Prostate Gland Urethra

Why are the testes considered to be the most important part of the male reproductive system?   This is because the testes are the organs responsible for producing the sperm cells of the male which fertilizes the egg cell of the females.

Why do testes need to have a lower temperature than the rest of the body?   This is because the sperm cells need a lower temperature for them to develop and mature.

Proper Care of Reproductive Organs for Male Always wash your external reproductive organ with mild soap and water when taking a bath.   Do not borrow underwear from anybody. 3. Always change your underwear daily or as often as needed.

4. Always wear clean underwear.   5. Get circumcised.   6. Talk to your parents and consult a doctor when you have problems with your reproductive organs.

Fill in the boxes of the flowchart with the correct word showing how the semen is released from the male reproductive system. testes Epididymis Vas Deferens Seminal Vesicles Prostate Gland Urethra

Why is the male reproductive system important?   This is to ensure that the human beings will be able to reproduce.

What will you do to take good care of the reproductive system ? 1. Always wash your external reproductive organ with mild soap and water when taking a bath.   2. Do not borrow underwear from anybody. 3. Always change your underwear daily or as often as needed.

4. Always wear clean underwear.   5. Get circumcised.   6. Talk to your parents and consult a doctor when you have problems with your reproductive organs.

Why is it important to take good care of our reproductive system?   This is to reduce the risk of acquiring diseases of the reproductive organs. This is also to ensure that there will be no problems with its functions.

List at least 5 ways on how to take good care of the Male Reproductive System. 1. 2. 3.

4. Why is it important to take good care of the Male Reproductive System? A. To prevent vision problems B. To maintain strong muscles C. To ensure overall reproductive health D. To improve memory and concentration

5. What is the importance of Male Reproductive System? A. To regulate sleep patterns B. To improve memory and concentration C. To digest food D. To ensure the continuation of the human species through reproduction
