Term Exponent/Power Base Simplify
Definition A small number
written above and
to the right of a
base. It shows how
many times the
base is multiplied
by itself.
The number that is
multiplied by itself
when raised to an
exponent.
To rewrite an
expression in its
shortest or
easiest form.
Examples 2^4=2×2×2×2=16.In 5^3, the base is 5. Simplify
2^3×2^2=2^5
