Here you will find brief description about water sampling. actually it's so important to examine the water we use our daily life in order to avoid negative impact of water.

Welcome to my presentation about water sampling Submitted by: Name: Mohamoud Jibril ID: 171-30-160 Semester: 8 Submitted to: Dr. Mahfuza Parfeen Assistant Professor Daffodil International University Dept: Environmental Science and Disaster Management Course code: ESDM.408
Water sampling The process of collecting a representative portion of water, as from the natural environment or form an industrial for the purpose of analyzing and testing it’s quality.
Objectives of water sampling To observe and measure how water quality changes over time. To identify the acidity and alkalinity of water. Identification of contaminant sources. Development and refinement of water management plans.
Sampling site
Before sampling Purpose of Sampling Area of sampling Select analytical techniques or methods Wear gloves and take sampling containers
Water sampling methodology Equipment Field sheets, sample labels Container for field measurements Container for collecting sample Filtration equipment Personal protective equipment, first aid and communication equipment.
Water sampling methodology 2. Field sheet details Name and location of sampling point Date and time of sample collection Name and contact information of a person taking the sample
Water sampling methodology Field parameters Temperature Conductivity pH Dissolved Oxygen Reduction/Oxidation potential Turbidity Alkalinity/Acidity
Water samplers 1.Van Dorn water sampler The Van Dorn water sampler has been specially designed for the sampling of open water. it is also suitable for sampling coastal waters and for the analysis for heavy metals. the sampler is also suitable for measuring parameters in water with solid particles
Water samplers 2. Kemmerer water sampler The Kemmerer water sampler (vertical water bottle) is used for general water sampling in lakes, channels, wells and the sea.
Water samplers 3. Plankton net It is used to collect microscopic animals (zoo-plankton)
Water samplers 4.Secchi Disk sampling A Secchi disk is an 8-inch diameter disk with alternating black and white quadrants that is lowered into the water column until it can no longer be seen from the surface. The point at which the disk disappears is a function of the lake turbidity.
Water samplers 5.Integrated Sampler A 2-meter integrated sampler is used for collecting surface water samples in a lake for total phosphorus and chlorophyll analysis. It enables the sampler to collect an integrated sample of the top 2 meters of the water column.
