Topic: Ways to Prevent Pollution English SBA School : Vessigny Secondary School Class: 4N Name: Amani Williams

Plan of Investigation This investigation aims to explore effective ways to combat pollution by understanding the sources and types of pollution and their impacts. Our research will focus on both prevention and solutions, evaluating how government policies, industry practices, and public engagement can play roles in reducing pollution. We will look at successful examples from different regions and analyze what worked well and what challenges were faced. By the end, we'll provide practical recommendations for mitigating pollution at various levels, promoting a cleaner and healthier environment for all.

What is Pollution? Pollution involves the release of harmful substances or contaminants into the environment. Types of pollution include air, water, soil, and noise pollution. Pollutants can be natural or man-made, like chemicals, gases, particles, and noise. Pollution can harm human health, causing respiratory issues and diseases. It can disrupt vital ecosystems, food chains, and leads to a loss of biodiversity. Pollution plays a role in climate change by emitting greenhouse gases. Contaminated water can spread waterborne diseases. Noise pollution disturbs wildlife behavior and human well-being. Pollution negatively affects agriculture and results in economic costs.

How is Pollution Dangerous? Pollution can increase the risk of respiratory infections, heart disease and lung cancer. Air pollution can also cause long-term damage to people's nerves, brain, kidneys, liver, and other organs. Pollution can contaminate most water supplies, leading to a rise in water-borne diseases such as diarrhea and cholera. Can disrupt ecosystems and food chains. Affects agriculture and economic costs.

How can Pollution be Prevented Pollution can be prevented by: Minimizing waste and conserve resources. Transition to renewable energy to reduce air pollution. Using public transit, carpool, bike, or walk. Implementation energy-efficient technologies. Safe use and disposal of chemicals. Following recycling and disposal guidelines. Conserving water and fix leaks. Using eco-friendly farming practices. Preserving and restoring ecosystems.

Reflection 1 Examining the data on pollution has profoundly impacted my perspective on this topic. It has revealed the severity and urgency of the issue, emphasizing its far-reaching consequences on the environment and human health. Discovering successful case studies and innovative technologies offers hope for effective solutions. The importance of regulatory frameworks in pollution control stands out, underscoring the role of government policies. In sum, this data emphasizes the need for comprehensive action to ensure a cleaner and more sustainable future.

Reflection 2 The words used in each part of the data have a job. When talking about pollution, the language is factual and urgent. When showing success stories and new technologies, it's more hopeful. When talking about rules, it's technical. In the end, the language is motivating. These word choices help tell the pollution story in different ways.

Reflection 3 Researching ways to prevent pollution has been very informative. It has made me aware of the urgency of the issue and the multitude of strategies available. I've come to realize the importance of public awareness and individual responsibility in addressing pollution. This experience has left me more informed and motivated to make sustainable choices and be an active part of the solution.
