Introduction 01 Getting to know what Globalization is
Introduction Globalization is considered to be a complex controversial phenomenon, as it has the power to either for economic development or exterminate the overall economic system. There have always been ongoing debates on the issue of globalization, the essence in which lies in finding out wether this phenomenon influences the world positively or negatively. To make the situation clear, the definition of globalization should be pointed out as well as its history with advantages and disadvantages addressed. Although globalization is viewed as an adverse process, it brings more use than harm to the world.

Definition of Globalization According to the dictionary, the concept of globalization is defined as the “development of an increasingly integrated global economy marked especially by free tapping of cheaper foreign labor markets”
Globalization is a social process in which the constraints of geography on social and cultural arrangements recede and in which people become increasingly aware that they are receding (Malcom Waters) Globalization is gearing towards global unification, global homogenization and the states’ relation to an economic world system. (Mike Feathersome ) Globalization has insurmountable impact on social and economic matters especially on the issue of sustainability that has reached mainstream. ( Drecher , Gaston and Martens) Globalization is the global network which united previously disparate communities on this planet into mutual dependence and a unit of a single world (Emanuel Richter)

History of Globalization Since ancient times, people have been in the pursuit of new opportunities and territories for settling and trading due to advances in the fields of transportation and technologies (Kolb).
Was targeted at global integration THE THREE WAVES OF GLOBALIZATION:TIMELINE 1492-1800 The 3 rd Wave The 1 st Wave The 2 nd Wave 1800-2000 2000-NOW Was promoted by the Industrial Revolution, having resulted in the passage of the multinational companies to the global market Is driven by global cooperation on the basis of a worldwide fiber -optic network as well as the development of various applications and software. ( Poppi and Cheng 9)
Internationalization Internationalization is a corporate strategy that involves making products and services as adaptable as possible, so they can easily enter different national markets . Internationalization describes the process of designing products to meet the needs of users in many countries or designing them so they can be easily modified, to achieve this goal
Liberalization Liberalization is more focused on the local economy than the global. It refers to easing rules and regulations on political or social matters. The term is used chiefly in the economic sense, where it means the removal of restrictions on trade and other economic activities. Liberalization is closely linked to privatization, which refers to the transfer of public sector ownership to private hands. It creates an environment for a free market and boosts competition, which results in increased productivity and an improved economy.
Universalization extending the impact of globalization through spread of ideas, goods, inventions, experiments, etc. – universal i.e. in the entire world . Andrew Heywood explains that “Universalization” meant the universality and community of the value, introducing universal order on the global scale.
Westernization Is a process in which societies adopt western cultures in areas such as industry, technology, law, politics, economies and lifestyles, clothing. Language, etc. According to M.N. Srinivas , it refers to the changes brought about in the Indian society and culture as a result of over 150 years of British rule and the term subsumes changes occurring at different levels technology, institutions, ideology and values.
