ARTFORM:DRAWING Drawing, the art or technique of producing images on a surface, usually paper, using marks, usually of ink, graphite, chalk, charcoal, or crayon.

ARTFORMS_/DRAWING Painting is defined as the process of applying paint/pigment, or another medium, to a solid surface – usually a canvas. Paints or other forms of color are commonly applied to using a paintbrush.

PAINTING Painting is the application of pigments to a support surface that establishes an image, design, or decoration. In art, the term “painting” describes both the act and the result. Most painting is created with pigment in liquid form and applied with a brush.

PAINTING

Art Activity 1/ Making a Study In the realistic or abstract style of art Represent yourself in symbol size of paper 8 x 11 ( board ) and pencil

REALISTIC Realistic style is a way of depicting the subject in an honest and unidealized manner, without exaggeration or distortion. It is often used to portray everyday life or contemporary issues. Realism emerged as a major artistic movement in the 19th century, in contrast to the idealized and romanticized styles of the past. Some examples of realistic painters are Gustave Courbet, Édouard Manet, and Winslow Homer1234.

Realism, in which the subject of the painting looks much like the real thing rather than being stylized or abstracted, is the style many people think of as "true art." Only when examined close up do what appear to be solid colors reveal themselves as a series of brushstrokes of many colors and values. Realism has been the dominant style of painting since the Renaissance. The artist uses perspective to create an illusion of space and depth, setting the composition and lighting such that the subject appears real. Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" is a classic example of the style.

ABSTRACT Abstraction is about painting the essence of a subject as the artist interprets it, rather than the visible details. A painter may reduce the subject to its dominant colors , shapes, or patterns, as Pablo Picasso did with his famous mural of three musicians. The performers, all sharp lines and angles Or an artist might remove the subject from its context or enlarge its scale

GRAPHIC DRAWING/ ILLUSTRATION Graphic illustration is the art of creating original and expressive images that convey a message, story, or idea. Illustrators use various techniques, such as drawing, painting, collage, or digital tools, to produce their artworks. Illustrations can be realistic, abstract, or stylized, depending on the intended audience and context.

Graphic illustration is art found on flyers, fabrics, book jackets, advertisements, packaging, posters, and websites. It helps express visual ideas, convey messages, sell products, teach students, and promote brands. In our increasingly visual world, it feels vital to our everyday lives. And yet the field of graphic illustration can be hard to define. So what is graphic illustration, and what is the difference between illustration, graphic design, and other methods of visual communication? How do graphic illustration artists differ from other types of artists and designers? What kind of specialized work do they do? Here, we’ll delve briefly into the history of illustration, examining how it developed into its own professional field. We’ll also cover a world of graphic illustration artists, examining the special techniques, toolkits, and skill sets they employ to create their work. Finally, we’ll compare and contrast graphic illustration with other types of graphic art and design, offering you a better understanding of how to differentiate between them. If you’ve ever been curious about the wide world of graphic illustration—or are interested in what it takes to join the ranks of successful graphic illustration artists—read on.
