What’s a URL? What makes up a web address?

Every website has a URL assigned to it so both searchers and the Web servers can find them easily and quickly. From the URL you can usually work out – the organisation hosting the website after the http:// or www. For example: www.redcross.org.au is the Australian Red Cross organisation 6/07/2012
