Will We Know Each Other in Heaven?

If we won’t know each other…

Do we still have our identity after this life?

What about our memory ?

Matthew 17:1-8 [4] Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will make three tabernacles here, one for You, and one for Moses , and one for Elijah .”

Romans 14:12 [12] So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.

Luke 16:19-31 [23] “In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and *saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom.

Luke 16:19-31 [25] “But Abraham said, ‘ Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony.

Why Do We Wonder?

1) What about us becoming spiritual ?

1 Corinthians 15:50-51 [50]  Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. [51] Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,

1 Corinthians 15:44 [44] it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

But: This does not teach an identity shift!

2 ) What about there being no marriage ?

Matthew 22:30 [30] “For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

But: The relation of marriage is ended, but not the memory of it.

3 ) What about knowing those who won’t get to heaven ?

But: We know God can comfort us.

What We Find: Descriptions of Heaven

Genesis 25:8 [8] Abraham breathed his last and died in a ripe old age, an old man and satisfied with life; and he was gathered to his people .

2 Samuel 12:23 [23] “But now he has died; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him , but he will not return to me.”

John 14:3 [3] “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also .

Luke 13:24-30 [29] “And they will come from east and west and from north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God.

Heaven is a place of reunion a nd being together !

“Faith is the Christian’s foundation, hope is his anchor, death is his harbor, Christ is his pilot, and heaven is his country.”
