WIOA Program Overview

The WIOA program is a federal
initiative that offers comprehensive
workforce development services to
job seekers, including dislocated
workers. Through WIOA, eligible
individuals can access a range of
training and employment assistance,
such as skills assessments, career
counseling, job search help, and
financial aid for education and
certifications.

For dislocated PM professionals,
WIOA can be an invaluable resource
in identifying in-demand skills,
developing a customized reskilling
or upskilling plan, and accessing
funding to support their career
transition. The program's holistic
approach helps individuals
overcome barriers and successfully
relaunch their careers in new or
evolving fields.

Who to Contact?

To take advantage of the WIOA program, dislocated
PM professionals should reach out to their local
American Job Center (AJC), also known as a One-Stop
Career Center. These centers serve as the gateway to
WIOA services and can provide personalized guidance
and support throughout the reskilling/upskilling and
job search process.

At the AJC, individuals will work with a case manager
who will assess their skills, interests, and employment
goals, and then develop an individualized plan to help
them achieve their career objectives. The case
manager can also connect them with training
providers, potential employers, and other community
resources to facilitate a successful career transition.

Key Takeaways

1. Embrace
Reskilling/Upskilling

Be open to acquiring
new skills and
capabilities to remain
competitive in the job
market. The WIOA
program can help you
identify in-demand skills
and access the necessary
training

Leverage WIOA
Resources

Take advantage of the
comprehensive services
offered by the WIOA
program, including skills
assessments, career
counseling, job search
assistance, and financial
aid for education and
certifications.
