Hands On Open Word on your laptop Choose Blank document Type a sentence

Basics The cursor Highlighted text Menus Tool bars Keyboard shortcuts Right-clicking

Hands On Copy and paste your sentence 3 times. Ctrl-c (copy) and ctrl-v (paste) Right-clicking Basic formatting Make a word bold. Make a word italic. Change the font of your sentence.

Hands On Put a picture in your document. Insert Pictures. More advanced: Copy and paste a picture from the Internet.

Hands On Make a change, such as adding a word. Then undo and redo the change. Ctrl-z (undo) and ctrl-y (redo) You can undo multiple times.

Hands On Save your document. Ctrl-s (save) OR in upper-left corner. Make sure to put your document where you can find it, e.g. in Documents or another folder. Tip: Don’t use Save As… unless you want to make another COPY of the document.

Hands On Explore templates. Add a footer and page number to your document. Make a text box and format it.
