VEGETATIONS
Haryana,
Rajasthan, Gujarat,
Madhya Pradesh,
dry subtropical and warm
temperate areas with a
seasonal rainfall
averaging 250 to 500 mm
(about 10 to 20 inches).
The thorn forests grow in
the regions which receive
less than 70 cm of rainfall.
The trees present in the
thorn forest have long
roots which penetrate
deeper into the soil in
search of water.
In these trees, the leaves
are thick and also small to
minimize evaporation.

MOUNTAIN
VEGETATION
Assam, Nagaland,
Mizoram,

The mean annual rainfall
here is 150 cm to 300 cm,
the mean annual
temperature is about 11°C
to 14°C and the average
relative humidity is over 80
per cent.
This kind of vegetation
differs according to
variation and increase in
altitude. As the height
increases, the
temperature decreases.
Thus, trees at a higher
altitude are conical and
form the coniferous
forests.
