World Earth Day

What Is World Earth Day Earth Day is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earths natural resources for future generations. The first Earth Day was held April 22, 1970.

What Is Earth? The planet we live on is a lot like other planets. It is a round body that spins around in space and travels around the Sun. It has an atmosphere made up of different gases. It is a rocky planet, like Mercury, Venus, and Mars. But there is one big difference between Earth and all the other planets Earth is the only planet in the solar system that can support life. Life on Earth exists because the planet has water on its surface and oxygen gas in its air. Earth also has the perfect range of temperatures for life.

Benefits Earth Day has helped to popularize recycling, offer new energy efficient solutions, create cleaner vehicles, control the depletion of the ozone layer, and much more. To celebrate Earth Day, consider what type of green acts you can take up, such as biking to work or washing your laundry in cold water.

Why should we protect the Earth? It underpins our economy, our society, indeed our very existence. Our forests, rivers, oceans and soils provide us with the food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we irrigate our crops with. We also rely on them for numerous other goods and services we depend on for our health, happiness and prosperity More ecological benefits like water cycle, oxygen cycle, nutrient cycle, photosynthesis etc.

Ten Simple Things You Can Do to Help Protect the Earth Reduce, reuse, and recycle. Cut down on what you throw away. Volunteer for cleanups in your community. Educate. Conserve water. Choose sustainable. Shop wisely. Use long-lasting light bulbs. Plant a tree.

What are the 5 things we get from earth? Earth's natural resources include air, water, soil, minerals, plants, and animals. Conservation is the practice of caring for these resources so all living things can benefit from them now and in the future.

If we Don't Save our Planet, we are Killing Ourselves Our planet is warming faster than we could have ever expected, scientists predict that if the average global temperature rises by 2 degrees, there will be a major collapse of ecosystems on earth, and the effects of this on humanity will be detrimental to our lives.

Facts Earth isn't round. Coral reefs are Earth's largest living structure. Antarctica is home to the largest ice sheet on Earth. The Moon is drifting away from Earth. Atacama is the driest place on Earth. Earth's magnetic pole is creeping westward.
