WWII The major causes of World War II were numerous. They include the impact of the Treaty of Versailles following WWI, the worldwide economic depression, failure of appeasement, the rise of militarism in Germany and Japan, and the failure of the League of Nations.

Political Political: The principal members of the Allies were the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, the United States, and China (the “Big Four”), as well as France while it was unoccupied. The leaders being Franklin Roosevelt (the United States), Winston Churchill (Great Britain), and Joseph Stalin (the Soviet Union). The three principal partners in the Axis alliance were Germany, Italy, and Japan. There leaders being, Adolf Hitler (Germany), Benito Mussolini (Italy), and Emperor Hirohito

Military The main part of WWII combat was strategic bombings to infrastructure chemical warfare was banned so they stuck to machine guns like the M2 stinger and aerial combat like the B-17. The tanks used were called panzers and tigers. The development of nuclear warheads at the end was the most important aspect of the war.

Propaganda: During World War II German propaganda emphasized the skill of the German army. Which went against it with the British and Allied armies who were portrayed as cowards and butchers, or brave but misguided. Russian troops were presented as dehumanized beasts and killers who attacked without fear of death. "We Can Do It," "Loose Lips Sink Ships," and "I Want You" are sayings that have become ingrained on the American consciousness. These and others were part of propaganda campaigns used during WWII to unite the American people towards a common cause.
