What is an Action Plan?

An action plan is a checklist for the steps or tasks you need to complete in order to achieve the goals you have set. 

What are the components of an Action Plan?

A well-defined description of the goal to be achieved. 01 components

Tasks/ steps that need to be carried out to reach the goal. 02 components

People who will be in charge of carrying out each task. 03 components

Deadlines and milestones. 04 components

Resources needed to complete the tasks. 05 components

W ith an effective action plan, you can boost your productivity and keep yourself focused.

It gives you a clear direction. As an action plan highlights exactly what steps to be taken and when they should be completed, you will know exactly what you need to do. 01 benefits

Having your goals written down and planned out in steps will give you a reason to stay motivated and committed throughout the project. 02 benefits

How to write an Action Plan?

Define your end goal 01 steps Start by defining where you are and where you want to be.

S.M.A.R.T. GOAL S- Specific M- Measurable A- Attainable R- Relevant T- Timely steps

List down the steps to be followed. 02 steps Create a rough template to list down all the tasks to be performed, due dates and people responsible.

Prioritize tasks and add deadlines. 03 steps It’s time to reorganize the list by prioritizing the tasks.

Set Milestones. 04 steps Milestones can be considered mini goals leading up to the main goal at the end.

Identify the resources needed. 05 steps Ensure that you have all the necessary resources at hand to complete the tasks.

Visualize your action plan. 06 steps The point of this step is to create something that everyone can understand at a glance and that can be shared with everyone.

Monitor, evaluate and update. 07 steps Allocate some time to evaluate the progress you’ve made with your team.
