Writing Personal Pride Articles

Objective: Grade 9 students will write three articles about events in their lives that they are proud of. This activity aims to develop their writing skills and encourage self-reflection and personal expression.

Format: Each article should be written clearly and concisely, with proper grammar and punctuation. Ensure each article has a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Use a third-person point of view (She, her, hers, herself, he, him, his, himself, they, them, themselves, theirs).

Article 1: A personal achievement Length: 2 paragraphs Guide Questions: What was the event or achievement you are proud of? Why is this event significant to you? How did you prepare or work towards this achievement? What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them? How did you feel during and after this event?

Article 2: overcoming a challenge Length: 3 paragraphs Guide Questions: What was the challenge you faced? How did this challenge impact your life? What steps did you take to overcome it? Who or what helped you along the way? What did you learn from this experience, and how did it change you?

Article 3: making a difference Length: 2 paragraphs Guide Questions: Describe an event where you made a positive impact on someone or something. What motivated you to take action? How did your actions make a difference? What feedback or reaction did you receive from others? How did this experience make you feel, and what did you learn?

Evaluation criteria: Content: Relevance and depth of the personal experiences shared (40%) Structure: Clear organization and logical flow of ideas (30%) Language: Correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling (20%) Engagement: Creativity and personal reflection (10%)
