My Inspiration of Pavilion is Nature
Nature is a very rich and broad source of inspiration, offering endless possibilities for architectural response, form, and
functionality.
To connect "Nature" to the computational logic required by the assignment, let's refine your concept by focusing on a
specific natural process or phenomenon.
Refining the "Nature" Concept
Nature provides both inputs (things we can measure) and processes (how things change). Which of
these areas of nature is most appealing to you?

The pavilion could breathe, sway, or
open/close pores like a plant.
Measurement: The system continuously
monitors the ambient air moisture.

The pavilion's form could be adaptive,
shifting its density or height.
Exterior_Fins_Contract_and_Close_Shut.
(The pavilion seals itself for shelter.)
The pavilion could change its color,
texture, or interior climate based on
the cycle.
Exterior_Fins_Expand_and_Open_Widely.
(The pavilion maximizes ventilation and
view.)
Fins_Maintain_50%_Open_Position. (The
pavilion rests in a neutral, balanced
state.)
Result: The interior climate and
connection to the exterior is actively
controlled by the environment.
Developing a "Nature" Concept: The Hygroscopic Pavilion
Work with the idea of Humidity as the input, as it directly connects to the movement found in certain
natural materials (like pine cones opening and closing).
Step 1: Concept Development
Theme/Inspiration: Hygroscopy (Moisture Absorption)
What it does: The pavilion opens up when the air is dry (inviting interaction) and closes/contracts
when the air is humid (offering shelter).
Responds to (Input): Ambient Humidity Level (a percentage from 0% to 100%).
What it represents: Sensitivity, immediate response to the local climate, and the material
intelligence of wood.
Step 2: Pseudocode Creation (The Logic Flow)
This logic is highly computable and translates perfectly into pseudocode:
Step 3: AI Visualization (Drafting the Prompt)
AI Prompt:
"A conceptual pavilion inspired by hygroscopic materials. The structure features a facade of thousands
of interlocking wooden fins that are designed to expand and contract based on the ambient humidity
levels. The fins are currently in a fully closed, sheltering position due to high moisture. Conceptual
architecture render, warm wood grain texture, futuristic timber design."
