Learning Improvement Group
The overarching aim is to obtain visible and measurable improvement in
students of classes 6-8 over a 2 year period of DE starting from Year 1 in
respect of 40 government schools spread over 2 locations in Telangana state.
•Identifying students whose performance is in the bottom 20% of the
class performance through a baseline assessment.
•Teacher to inspire the bottom 20% students to be part of the DE class
and Flipped classroom.
•The support includes observation of the teacher’s class, demo lessons by
the coordinators, review of notebooks, test papers, classroom displays,
TLMs, implementing micro-innovations from STIR etc.
•Teachers and coordinators sharing best practices and general tips.
•Improve upon classroom practices of teachers by providing student-
centered pedagogical and activity-based approaches.
•Integrating Edu-Kit, DE Class and Flipped Classroom in school
curriculum.
•Providing remedial support to all students focusing on individualized
needs in Mathematics, Science and Social studies.

Strategic monitoring and evaluation processes
•A rigorous monitoring and evaluation system will focus on assessing
the program reach and impact. It will specifically measure the number
of teachers and students participating in DE – LIG improvement
program and activities, as well as the attitudinal changes in school
practices are focused.
