“Role of the Quality Assurance Engineer ” Presented by U THAN TUN (Consultant Engineer ) .
Outlines of Presentation Aim and Objectives Introduction Design Information Inspection of Materials and components Process Inspection QC on finished products Calibration Preventive Maintainence section Customer Complaint feedback Training and Motivation Qualification criteria of the operators Conclusion
Aim and Objectives To get excellent, zero defect products To render strong leadership of entire working time To create a quality environment
Introduction Conformance to need of customer Dedication to Quality QAE must organize a team Inspection (Separates good from bad is not enough) Create Quality I mprovement
Design Information Design Review - Review design output Review Team make up Team: QAE - Leader (Quality A ssure E ngineering) DD - Member (Design Development) IT - Member (Inspection Testing) PD - Member (Production Department) RS - Member made up (Repair Service) Design R eview Register Check List
Design Validation Manufacturing Prototype Transformer Comparing design values & observed values. - Functioning of independent items checked & recorded. In process check on prototype transformer record. Design Validation meet & register. Release production.
Inspection of materials & Components Specs of materials & Components Purchase Order with specs and drawings Review test Certificates (Incoming materials) Need assistance of design department Customer hold point ( chp )
Inspection of incoming materials & components To check Quality requirements Close touch with vendors. Inspire the vendors to check parameters Review test certificates (in accord with said standards). Physical nature + design values + electrical checks, electrical strength for oil, Loss/ kg for CRGO)
Process Inspection Identification of weak areas and strengthen them. Special responsibilities during in process manufacturing stages. Analysis of non-conformities & correct. (Pass 80% below acceptable is 20%) Converts the weakness into Strength
Q.C on finished products Review test results before dispatch. Organize remedial measures to prevent failure in future. Provide sample & understandable for each test with connection diagram. Records are kept by Test department.
Calibration Calibration plan Frequency of calibration (Megger, PT/CT) All gauges, Scales, Verniers, micrometer regular calibration should be done at Government Labs. Provide one set of Calibration Instruments for finished products.
Preventive Maintenance Section Maintenance plan for machines Healthy working environment Team Spirit & work under defined Q.S Find out non-conformities. Preventive/Breakdown/Routine Maintenance
Corrective & Preventive action Deviation from standards viz ISO; IEC Design & Specification Machinery Equipment Material Operating and Supervisory Staff
Customer Complaint Feedback Customer Satisfaction Remedial measures Monitor the performers
Training/Motivation Training to get skill in individuals Need to understand Spaces, drawing & docs. Meaning of motivation Suggestions should be encouraged & reviewed
Qualification criteria of the operators Qualified operators (C.W, C.C.A, Tank, Painting, Fabrication) Qualification requirement for production jobs. Screen test; Frequency & Screening test Both in process stages as well as finished transformers.
