Do you think the government helps people who want to raise fish? Yes. The government helps by giving training, providing fingerlings (baby fish), teaching new technology, and offering support through agencies like BFAR (Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources).
Why do you think there are laws about taking care of fish and water resources?
Why do you think there are laws about taking care of fish and water resources? There are laws to make sure fish and water resources are protected, not wasted, and can be used by future generations. The laws also guide fish raisers so they can raise fish properly while caring for the environment.
Organic Agriculture Act of 2010 or Republic Act No. 10068 Declaration Policy- “ it is hereby declared the policy of the State to promote, propagate, develop further and implement the practice of organic agriculture in the Philippines that will cumulatively condition and enrich the fertility of the soil, increase farm productivity, reduce pollution and the destruction of the environment, prevent the depletion of natural resources, further protect the health of farmers, consumers and the general public and save on imported farm inputs.
1. Legal Basis: Republic Act 8550 (Philippine Fisheries Code of 19980 Promotes aquaculture of fish farming. Protects fishery resources for future generations Provides support to fish raisers (training, technology, and funding).
2. Agencies that support Fish Raising: BFAR (Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources) – provides fingerlings, training and technology. Department of Agriculture (DA) – supports fish farmers as part of agriculture and food security. DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources) – ensures that aquaculture does not harm the environment.
2. Agencies that support Fish Raising: BFAR (Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources) – provides fingerlings, training and technology. This particular agency helps and supports our fish raisers through the following: a. Formulate and implement a comprehensive fishery research and development program aimed at increasing resource productivity and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our country’s fisheries and aquatic resources.

This particular agency helps and supports our fish raisers through the following: b. Provide extensive development support services in all aspects of fisheries production, processing and marketing.
