NOTABLE FILIPINO PHOTOGRAPHERS George Tapan is a travel photographer. He has travelled all over the philippines, asia and europe. at the age of 65, he has released five photography books that chronicle his travels. He started photographer for movie posters in the 1960s where he met former President Joseph Estrada who hired him to be his official photographer when the latter ran for Mayor in San Juan. He also worked as a contributing photographer for various magazines such as The Mirror and became the director of photography for Mabuhay Magazines, the in-flight magazine of the Philippine airlines.

He advises that photograph should not just be a simple post card, it should offer something interesting that gives a bit of insight of the place as a traveler. Always put people in it to create the connection between the photographer and the place. Do not make photos that are artificially beautiful. “Stick to what is real”, George Tapan. Take time to study the place to get the best vantage, point and to know which to include and not to include in the shot. if you are taking pictures of urban settings such as the streets, be careful that you do not offend anyone or invade their privacy. Ask permission if possible before you take someone's photo.

JOHN CHUA He worked as a photographer for 40 years. He has his own studio called Adphoto that is managed by his wife. Adphoto was one of the first studios in the country to use digital photography. He is a licensed pilot for light planes that is advantageous, since he specializes in aerial photography. He is a very versatile photographer; other than aerial photographer. JohnChua advises aspiring photography like you to use equipment that complement your skills level. He also suggest to new or beginners in this field to be comfortable with the equipment He believes that photography is a perfect venue to raise awareness and a call to action to make peoples live better. in 2012- he asked volunteer photographers to collaborate with the community in the rice terreces to rebuild part of the rice terreces that had been damaged during the typhoon

FILM - is a collaborative efforts that requires people from different disciplines to work together to be able to to make a film. - The type of film and its budget would determine the number of people that wouold be employed to work on the film. - creating a movie inolves a lot of planning and preparation. example. supernatural-need costumes There are five stage production to create a film. 1. Development - this stage where the ideas for the film is discussed - the producers chooses a story to base the film on. - the producer hires a writer to create treatment to describes the story, the mood of the film, and its characters. 2. Preproduction - is the phase where the director is hired as well as the cast and crew

- The director is the one who control the stoytelling, the creative decisions for the production, and the performance of the actors. - this is the phase where locations are chosen, the sets are built,and costumes are provided. - once all the scenes have been filmed comes post-production. 3. Post-production - is where the visual effects and musical scores - the film is assembled by a film editor from the raw footage of filming. - the film editor chooses the appropriate footages and comines them to create a finished film, ready for the final step. 4. Distribution- is the final phase of film production where the film is released to the cinemas or in some cases to digital media providers.

Contemporary filipino filmmakers -Brillante Mendoza - was born in 1960 in San fernando, Pampanga. - he studied Advertising Arts at the University of Santo Tomas. - in 2014- he was knighted by the french government for his talent and his uplftment of the quality of Philippines cinema. - Maryo J. delos Reyes - he was born in 1952 in Sta. cruz,Manila - film has always been his passion since he was young. -he used to entertain his brothers and sisters with fictional stories. - he took up Mass Communication at the University of the Philippines where he graduated with honors. - he continued to direct television shows, movies, threatrical plays and even commercial.

Laurice Guillen - is both actress and director. - she was born in 1947 and first worked in the industry as an actress. - Lino Brocka - he guided laurice directorial carreer, her director for Tinimbang Ngunit Kulang. -she made her first directorial debut in 1983. - memorable film: 1. magkano ang iyong dangal(1988) won best director in the Metro manilafilm festival 2. Ipagptawad mo(1991) and Tanging yaman( won best director, best screenplay and besty original storyaward in MMFF.)
