Former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar was on
Wednesday convicted by a Delhi court related to
the killings of two Sikhs in Delhi during the 1984
anti-Sikh riots. Arguments on the quantum of sentencing
will take place on February 18. Kumar, who is currently
lodged in Tihar Jail after his conviction in another murder
case related to the riots, was accused of leading a mob and
instigating it to kill Jaswant Singh and his son Tarundeep
Singh in Saraswati Vihar area in Delhi on November 1,
1984. The court had reserved the judgment after hearing

The Supreme Court on
Wednesday came down
heavily on the practice of
political parties promis-
ing freebies ahead of
elections and wondered
whether we are creating
a “class of parasites”.
The court deprecated
such promises and said
the free ration and money
kept people away from
work. “Rather than pro-
moting them to be a part
of mainstream of society
by contributing to na-
tion’s development, are
we not creating a class of
parasites?,” asked bench
of Justices BR Gavai and
A George Masih. “Due to
freebies, which just on
anvil of poll are declared,
like ‘Ladki Bahin’, other
schemes, people aren’t
willing to work,” he said.

ince his early life,
whether reading
and learning
about Bapu, be-
ing in the company of his
followers like the illustrious
Vinobha Bhabe, or embrac-
ing ideals like Swachhata
and rural empowerment,
Mahatma Gandhi has been a
guiding light for Narendra
Modi. PM Modi has been
striving to uphold Gandhiji’s
ideals, promoting his legacy,
and fulfilling his vision of a
self-reliant and empowered
India. Many of Gandhiji’s
dreams for a progressive and
developed India still remain
unfulfilled. But Narendra
Modi is leading the way in
bringing those unfulfilled
dreams to fruition. In fact,
Narendra Modi has lived
Gandhiji’s ideals himself
and these ideals have always
filled him with motivation
and positive energy to do
what is best for the people of
this country. As an RSS
pracharak he used to stay at
the Jagannath temple in
Ahmedabad in a small room.
From there he started a
cleanliness campaign in
nearby villages on the ideals
of the Mahatma. He told his
team that villagers must be
motivated and inspired to
keep their homes and sur-
roundings clean, as Gandhi-
ji did, and he ensured that
villagers made it their daily
habit and complied by it.
When he became the BJP
general secretary for the first
time, Modi carried the mes-
sage of Gandhiji’s favourite
bhajan ‘Vaishnav Jan To....’
to every corner of the coun-
try, in party organisations
and beyond, and made it like
an anthem in every function,
to instill its importance in
the people, especially party
workers. No one understood
the meaning of the bhajan so
well and no one has done as
much as Narendrabhai did in
those days to propagate the
message of equality and jus-
tice inherent in this iconic
song. Once during the visit
of former PM late Atal Bi-
hari Vajpayee to South Af-
rica, it was Narendrabhai
who suggested a kalash
(pitcher) with the soil of
Gandhiji’s Gujarat must be
carried from here as a token
of homage to Bapu in South
Africa, as PM Vajpayee was
also to visit the place where
Gandhiji was thrown out of
the train in that country in
the infamous incident that
was the beginning of the
Mahatma’s struggle against
discrimination. Modi ji al-
ways believes that we must
progress but the roots of tra-
dition must not be forgotten.
When the metro route was
being drawn in Ahmedabad,
it was first planned to estab-
lish a metro station in front
of the Sabarmati Ashram.
Modiji immediately shot
down the idea and said a
metro station in front of the
Ashram would destroy its
peace and sanctity. It might
also cause vibration and af-
fect the old structures of the
Bapu’s ashram. The station
plan was thus shifted else-
where following his far-
sightedness. After coming to
power in Gujarat, Modi ji
developed all those places
which are associated with
the history of Gandhiji on
priority. He purchased by
and by around 160 acres of
land around Sabarmati Ash-
ram to restore the earlier
face of the Ashram as a true
abode of peace and medita-
tion and thus turned it into a
global magnet. World’s top
statesmen like Donald
Trump, Xi Jinping and Isra-
el’s Benjamin Netanyahu
have visited this Ashram on
the efforts of PM Modi. In
2024, the PM sanctioned a
`12,000-crore project to
spruce up and strengthen the
facilities at Sabarmati Ash-
ram. The Satyagrah Ashram
at Kochrabh in Ahmedabad,
from where Gandhiji is said
to have started his lifelong
struggle for truth and inde-
pendence, was in a dilapi-
dated state. It was Modiji
who took the initiative and
restored this important mon-
ument to its former glory.
‘MODI HAI TO MUMKIN HAI…’UNTOLD STORIES OF PM MODI — PART 118
s Gujarat CM, Narendra Modi revived tradi-
tional sports and promoted a widespread rural
sporting culture, which was gradually dying
a natural death in the state for want of proper
patronage. He introduced Rural Olympics during local
melas, giving a boost to indigenous games like bullock
cart racing, kushti (wrestling), kabaddi etc. There is a
very famous mela (fair) held every year in Gujarat’s
Surendranagar district, which is called Tarnetar Mela.
The name has originated from Trinetra (three eyes) of
Lord Shiva and it is a massive gathering of devotees and
tourists alike. Seeing an
opportunity here, Modi ji
pitched the idea of hold-
ing Rural Olympics, as a
part of the celebrations in
the fair. The CM said we
are gravitating towards
modern trendy sport disci-
plines but in the process
forgetting and ignoring
our own local sports,
which can get a major
boost if made a part of
public celebrations like
the Tarnetar Mela. It is our
duty to keep those sports alive as a part of our legacy and
thus encourage them, he said. So, that was the birth of
Rural Olympics, and I, as chief of the Gujarat Sports
Authority at that time, was part of the implementation of
the project. Narendra Modi would personally grace the
event, which came as a major fillip for the people of the
region. They started indulging in sports which they had
always played but had forgotten somewhere on the way
as they didn’t get the right support ecosystem. Modi ji,
through his ingenious plan, rekindled the love for these
sports in the people and they have now become an indel-
ible part of public events and celebrations across Gujarat.

Narendra Modi who envisioned

the spirit and traditions of the

interest and efforts led to the

the city into a major tourism hot-

new avenues of livelihood and
prosperity. The government’s ut-

impressive `21. 15 trillion, as per
the World Travel and Tourism

M Bhajan Lal
Sharma said
with the aim of
making the state a $350
billion economy, the state
govt is working to imple-
ment the MOUs signed
under the ?Rising Rajast-
han Global Investment
Summit? on the ground at
any cost. Sharma re-
viewed the implementa-
tion of the MoUs under
Rising Rajasthan at the
CMR on Wednesday. He
directed that quarterly
targets be set for the im-
plementation of MoUs
and that they be brought
to the ground level.
Record progress in
MoU Implementation
It is noteworthy that im-
plementation of MOUs
worth over ` 1.66 lakh
crore has already begun
in the state. These in-
clude investments in en-
ergy, mining, urban de-
velopment, industry, and
agriculture sectors. On
the initiative of CM Shar-
ma, a three-level system
has been set up to review
MoUs signed during the
‘Rising Rajasthan Global
Investment Summit’.
Under this, the CM him-
self is regularly review-
ing the MOUs worth
more than ` 1,000 crore
every month.
Investors informed
about MoU’s progress
CM said priority of the
govt is to maintain direct
communication with in-
vestors so that their prob-
lems can be resolved. In
this direction, the state
government is providing
investors with informa-
tion on progress of MoU
implementation through
the Investor Interface.
Monitoring of land
allocation cases
He directed that the re-
maining MOU cases re-
lated to land allocation
should be resolved on a
priority basis. He in-
structed that land alloca-
tion cases be reviewed
weekly and said that the
concessions related to
land allocation should
also be simplified. Addi-
tionally, he reviewed the
land category MoUs and
said that necessary other
approvals in this regard
should be cleared quick-
ly, so that the implemen-
tation of these MoUs can
be expedited. CM said in
case of MoUs where ap-
proval from multiple
depts is required, all con-
cerned depts should com-

coordination and at an
accelerated pace.

the Rajasthan govern-

allegations, calling it a
serious crime requiring
investigation. He empha-
sized that a cabinet min-

On the Rajasthan Pub-

Gehlot accused AAP of

to split Congress?s votes.
He pointed to Gujarat,
Goa and Uttarakhand as-
sembly elections, saying
that Congress was in a

ever, AAP?s entry into
these elections led to a di-
vision of votes, ultimately
weakening Congress.
In several of these

Jaipur
Senior BJP leader and
Cabinet Minister Dr

submitted his response to
the show cause notice is-
sued by the party’s Ra-
jasthan president Madan

In a five-page reply,
Meena acknowledged his
mistake and requested a

ing a copy to National
President JP Nadda.
Meena described him-
self as a disciplined sol-
dier of the party and reit-
erated his commitment to
its principles. He also
clarified his absence
from the assembly, citing
health reasons.
Regarding allegations
of phone tapping, Meena
denied making any such
claims. He stated that his
actions, including protests
over the RAS exam, had
led to its cancellation and
strict scrutiny of the RPSC.
He asserted that he
bears no grievances
against anyone and re-
mains committed to the
party’s cause.
Responding to queries
on his notice, Meena re-
marked that party leader-
ship believed he had
shown indiscipline,
prompting them to issue
the notice.
“I have given the reply
on the mistake I had
made. I replied yesterday
itself. The mistake is
mentioned in the show
notice given by the par-
ty’s state president and
that mistake had hap-
pened for which reply
has been given,” Meena
told reporters. He said
that he has attempted to
satisfy the leadership
with his response but re-
frained from disclosing
its details, calling it an
“internal party matter.”
He further said that the
Party State President

He argued that the pe-

ince his early life,
whether reading
and learning
about Bapu, be-
ing in the company of his
followers like the illustrious
Vinobha Bhabe, or embrac-
ing ideals like Swachhata
and rural empowerment,
Mahatma Gandhi has been a
guiding light for Narendra
Modi. PM Modi has been
striving to uphold Gandhiji?s
ideals, promoting his legacy,
and fulfilling his vision of a
self-reliant and empowered
India. Many of Gandhiji?s
dreams for a progressive and
developed India still remain
unfulfilled. But Narendra
Modi is leading the way in
bringing those unfulfilled
dreams to fruition. In fact,
Narendra Modi has lived
Gandhiji?s ideals himself
and these ideals have always
filled him with motivation
and positive energy to do
what is best for the people of
this country. As an RSS
pracharak he used to stay at
the Jagannath temple in
Ahmedabad in a small room.
From there he started a
cleanliness campaign in
nearby villages on the ideals
of the Mahatma. He told his
team that villagers must be
motivated and inspired to
keep their homes and sur-
roundings clean, as Gandhi-
ji did, and he ensured that
villagers made it their daily
habit and complied by it.
When he became the BJP
general secretary for the first
time, Modi carried the mes-
sage of Gandhiji?s favourite
bhajan ?Vaishnav Jan To....?
to every corner of the coun-
try, in party organisations
and beyond, and made it like
an anthem in every function,
to instill its importance in
the people, especially party
workers. No one understood
the meaning of the bhajan so
well and no one has done as
much as Narendrabhai did in
those days to propagate the
message of equality and jus-
tice inherent in this iconic
song. Once during the visit
of former PM late Atal Bi-
hari Vajpayee to South Af-
rica, it was Narendrabhai
who suggested a kalash
(pitcher) with the soil of
Gandhiji?s Gujarat must be
carried from here as a token
of homage to Bapu in South
Africa, as PM Vajpayee was
also to visit the place where
Gandhiji was thrown out of
the train in that country in
the infamous incident that
was the beginning of the
Mahatma?s struggle against
discrimination. Modi ji al-
ways believes that we must
progress but the roots of tra-
dition must not be forgotten.
When the metro route was
being drawn in Ahmedabad,
it was first planned to estab-
lish a metro station in front
of the Sabarmati Ashram.
Modiji immediately shot
down the idea and said a
metro station in front of the
Ashram would destroy its
peace and sanctity. It might
also cause vibration and af-
fect the old structures of the
Bapu?s ashram. The station
plan was thus shifted else-
where following his far-
sightedness. After coming to
power in Gujarat, Modi ji
developed all those places
which are associated with
the history of Gandhiji on
priority. He purchased by
and by around 160 acres of
land around Sabarmati Ash-
ram to restore the earlier
face of the Ashram as a true
abode of peace and medita-
tion and thus turned it into a
global magnet. World?s top
statesmen like Donald
Trump, Xi Jinping and Isra-
el?s Benjamin Netanyahu
have visited this Ashram on
the efforts of PM Modi. In
2024, the PM sanctioned a
`12,000-crore project to
spruce up and strengthen the
facilities at Sabarmati Ash-
ram. The Satyagrah Ashram
at Kochrabh in Ahmedabad,
from where Gandhiji is said
to have started his lifelong
struggle for truth and inde-
pendence, was in a dilapi-
dated state. It was Modiji
who took the initiative and
restored this important mon-
ument to its former glory.
‘MODI HAI TO MUMKIN HAI…’UNTOLD STORIES OF PM MODI — PART 118
s Gujarat CM, Narendra Modi revived tradi-
tional sports and promoted a widespread rural
sporting culture, which was gradually dying
a natural death in the state for want of proper
patronage. He introduced Rural Olympics during local
melas, giving a boost to indigenous games like bullock
cart racing, kushti (wrestling), kabaddi etc. There is a
very famous mela (fair) held every year in Gujarat’s
Surendranagar district, which is called Tarnetar Mela.
The name has originated from Trinetra (three eyes) of
Lord Shiva and it is a massive gathering of devotees and
tourists alike. Seeing an
opportunity here, Modi ji
pitched the idea of hold-
ing Rural Olympics, as a
part of the celebrations in
the fair. The CM said we
are gravitating towards
modern trendy sport disci-
plines but in the process
forgetting and ignoring
our own local sports,
which can get a major
boost if made a part of
public celebrations like
the Tarnetar Mela. It is our
duty to keep those sports alive as a part of our legacy and
thus encourage them, he said.

M Narendra Modi’s
visionary focus has
transformed India’s
hidden gems into
global tourist hotspots. From the
vibrant Rann of Kutch to the se-
rene Lakshadweep, India’s var-
ied beauty now shines bright on
the world map. His personal in-
terest and initiatives have elevat-
ed India’s global reputation as a
top travel destination. From the
very beginning of his public life
in political career, Narendra
Modi recognised tourism as a
powerful tool to showcase our
country’s heritage, cultural iden-
tity and diversity on the world
stage. During his tenure as the
chief minister of Gujarat, Naren-
dra Modi redefined state tourism
with groundbreaking initiatives.
By transforming the barren Rann
of Kutch through the Rann Utsav
festival, he turned desolation
into celebration. Celebrating Gu-
jarat’s New Year at Mandvi
beach was another such example,
putting local traditions in the
global spotlight. It was again
Narendra Modi who envisioned
the Statue of Unity as a monu-
mental tribute to national pride,
symbolising unity and greatness.
Today, the Statue of Unity is not
only the world’s tallest but also
India’s most visited tourist desti-
nation, generating over
`400-crore in just ticket revenue.
In 2016, his visit to Nandanvan
Jungle Safari in Chhattisgarh
sparked interest among young
wildlife enthusiasts, boosting
ecotourism. In 2019, he brought
the ancient Mahabalipuram
caves and temples into the glob-
al limelight by hosting Chinese
president Xi Jinping there, high-
lighting India’s history and rich
cultural heritage. The world wit-
nessed the timeless grandeur of
India’s past through this iconic
event. In January 2024, the PM
showcased the beauty of Lak-
shadweep to the world, turning
this secluded paradise into a
symbol of India’s self-reliance
and sustainability. Through his
regular visits to the North East,
Narendra Modi continues to
highlight the region’s untouched
natural beauty, promoting eco-
nomic growth for local commu-
nities. His focus on the North
East has turned the once-over-
looked gems into thriving tourist
hotspots, boosting regional
pride. He has typically soaked in
the spirit and traditions of the
region, partaking in their cul-
tural traditions, which has, in
turn, mainstreamed their histori-
cal identities. Modi’s personal
interest and efforts led to the
construction of the Ram Mandir
in Ayodhya, which again, turned
the city into a major tourism hot-
spot, giving thousands of locals,
new avenues of livelihood and
prosperity. The government’s ut-
most priority in opening new
airports across the unserved re-
gions of the country as well as its
unwavering commitment to-
wards connecting all parts of the
country through a world class
expressway network are also ma-
jor steps towards tourism and
enhanced connectivity for indus-
trial growth. Under PM Modi’s
leadership, India’s tourism rev-
enue was projected to reach an
impressive `21.15 trillion, as per
the World Travel and Tourism
Council (WTTC). In 2025 itself,
India is set to earn around $25.1
billion in tourism revenue. Nar-
endra Modi’s relentless efforts
have transformed tourism into a
driving force for India’s develop-
ment and global pride. Modi’s
astute understanding of the po-
tential of tourism has unleashed
a powerhouse of innovation, en-
trepreneurship, enterprise and
growth in the country.
‘MODI HAI TO MUMKIN HAI…’UNTOLD STORIES OF PM MODI — PART 117
anuary 26, 2015 was
Narendra Modi’s first
Republic Day func-
tion as Prime Minister
of India. We had a very special
guest on the occasion in US Pres-
ident Barack Obama. The func-
tion went off smoothly and left
everyone impressed. After a few
days of the event, I had a meeting
with Modi ji on a separate issue.
Soon after the meeting, the PM
asked me to wait. I did. But I was
a bit worried as well, trying to
figure out if anything had gone
wrong. Then he told me, “When
I was coming from Rajpath today,
I noticed that the chairs, benches
and other materials used for the
R-Day function, haven’t been re-
moved yet. This is not a good
thing for Rajpath and its beauty
and decorum. People from all
over the world come here and we
should thus ensure to always
keep this place neat and tidy.” He
instructed the materials be re-
moved immediately and it was
duly done the same day. But
what impressed me was his at-
tention to these small details. On
the one hand he was guiding such
a big and grand event like the
Republic Day and on the other he
was also guiding us on how to
maintain cleanliness. This shows
Modi ji’s commitment, dedica-
tion, sincerity and vision and sets
an example for all.
arendra Modi has al-
ways believed that na-
tional celebrations like
Republic Day should
be for the people and by the people.
This is reflected in the participation
of thousands of common people
from diverse sections in the Repub-
lic Day celebrations in Delhi. As
Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra
Modi decentralised Republic Day
celebrations, shifting them from
the state capital to district centres.
This brought the festivities closer
to the people, offering local com-
munities, officials, and talent the
opportunity to actively participate
in organising and experiencing
events that were previously con-
fined to the state level. He intro-
duced many innovations and took
many initiatives as Gujarat CM, of
which the three most remarkable
reforms were regarding the cele-
bration of Republic Day, Inde-
pendence Day and Gujarat Foun-
dation Day. Earlier all of these
major events took place at Patel
Stadium in Ahmedabad but now
on, after Narendra Modi ji’s inter-
vention, these events are held in
each district, giving an opportunity
to people in smaller towns and cit-
ies to witness the state-level cul-
tural extravaganzas. Local artists
too have started getting bigger plat-
forms to perform. Another offshoot
of this innovation is that district or
tehsil level officials, who hardly
knew event management, got a
hands-on training to hold big and
important events and now they
successfully host such events that
are on par with any state-level pro-
gramme.

experience,” he praised
the scale and significance
of the gathering.
Solheim called Maha-
kumbh not just the larg-
est spiritual event in the
world but also the biggest
human congregation in
history. Expressing his
admiration, he stated,
“Nothing of this magni-
tude has ever happened
anywhere—not in Amer-
ica, Europe, China, or
any other part of the
world.”
Eric Solheim, shared
his awe-inspiring experi-
ence at Mahakumbh
2025, stating that over
400 million devotees
have already taken a holy
dip in the sacred waters.
He highlighted that peo-
ple from all over the
world are coming not
only to seek divine bless-
ings but also for a spirit-
ual and emotional jour-
ney, to strengthen friend-
ships, and to celebrate
with their families.
Describing his visit as
a once-in-a-lifetime ex-
perience, Solheim said,
“It was an unforgettable
moment for me, and I feel
truly happy to have been
part of this grand event.”
He further noted that
due to strong security,
cleanliness, efficient traf-
fic management, and
digital services, Maha-
kumbh is attracting not
just millions of Hindus
but people of different
faiths from across the
world.
He praised the Yogi
government for show-
casing Indian culture and
spirituality on a global
platform, making Maha-
kumbh a unique blend of
faith, devotion, and dis-
cipline that continues to
inspire visitors world-
wide.

Maha Kumbh Mela here.
According to an offi-

made for the sacred bath
that began early Wednes-

Adityanath has been
monitoring the event
since 4 am at the war

statement said.
With the ‘snan’ on
Maghi Purnima, another
auspicious day for holy
bath, the month-long
‘Kalpavas’ will be ending
and around 10 lakh
‘Kalpavasis’ will start
leaving the Maha Kumbh.
The administration has
requested them to follow
traffic rules and use only
authorised parking spaces.
While lakhs of devo-
tees are headed to the
Sangam area, the govern-
ment in the statement said
that by 6 pm, over two
crore people had taken the
ritual dip at the Triveni
Sangam and other ghats.
Overall since the start
of the Maha Kumbh,
over 47 crore people
have taken a dip in the
Sangam, it said.

TO CONTROL GST EVASION
SGST Enforcement Wing searching for reliable sources
Vimal Kothari
-DLSXU
fter last month?s
transfers, most
of the officers in
the Enforcement Wing of
the Commercial Tax De-
partment are ?new? to this
branch. With the departure
of old vehicle drivers from
the Enforcement Wing,
the newly appointed driv-
ers are working to estab-
lish their coordination.
The department is cur-
rently identifying the
routes used for smug-
gling goods and evading
taxes, especially in the
border areas of Rajasthan.
These new drivers are
working to uncover hid-
den routes used to trans-
port goods without proper
documentation. As the
new officers and drivers
settle into their roles, the
department is focusing on
gathering accurate and
timely information to
tackle GST evasion. Reli-
able sources are now be-
ing sought, as many of
the officers have no prior
experience in this branch.
The department has
found that several active
agents, especially from
neighbouring states like
Delhi, Haryana, Uttar
Pradesh, Gujarat, and
Madhya Pradesh, are in-
volved in the smuggling
of goods into Rajasthan
without proper bills and
documentation. These
agents have taken advan-
tage of the situation, in-
creasing the fees for goods
being transported into Ra-
jasthan without bills.
Over the past few
months, field assignments
and surveys have been re-
laxed, making it easier for
goods to enter the state
without being checked.

What are the challeng-
es before the new BJP
government in Delhi to-
day?
Dr Jagdeesh Chandra:
The biggest challenge is
to implement the prom-
ises and declarations
made. The one-line chal-
lenge is to ensure the
promises are fulfilled.
Arvind Kejriwal?s big-
gest mistake was that he
didn?t fulfil the promises
he made to the people. He
made several promises
but didn?t deliver on
many. This led to a loss of
trust among the people,
among other issues.
Whether it was pollution,
corruption, or other fac-
tors, the core reason was
the unfulfilled promises.
The BJP has to be very,
very careful about imple-
menting the promises
made in their election
manifesto. Especially, the
five major promises ?
pollution control, clean-
ing the Yamuna, road
cleaning, and other big
promises, including free-
bies ? should show con-
crete action for imple-
mentation. Indeed, elec-
tions are five years away,
but this time, Modi?s
credibility is at stake. The
election was won under
Narendra Modi?s guaran-
tee, so Modi himself has
to ensure it, and the PMO
needs to make sure
through remote control
that the promised budget
allocations are made.
What is the implementa-
tion stage of these prom-
ises? I believe the PMO
should have a desk dedi-
cated to monitoring this.
So, the biggest challenge
is to ensure that the prom-
ises of clean governance
and good administration
are fulfilled.
Is it true that Naren-
dra Modi?s Middle-Class
Budget Relief Card
changed all the equa-
tions in this election?
Yes, it is true. For the first
time, the middle class,
upper-middle class, and
OBCs came together.
They sympathised with
the poor, but the question
was, ?When will atten-
tion be given to them??
The Kejriwal govern-
ment was always focused
on free schemes for the
poor, but the middle class
was troubled by the con-
dition of civic adminis-
tration. 67% of the mid-
dle class, which plays a
decisive role in elections,
had lost trust. Narendra
Modi won them over
with two masterstrokes.
First, the provision of Rs
1 lakh crore for the mid-
dle class in the budget,
and second, the 8th Pay
Commission. Govern-
ment employees and the
middle class felt blessed.
It became very difficult
for Kejriwal to compete
with this budget. The big-
gest thing is that Modi?s
strategy was a positive
one, and it succeeded in
winning the election.
When you engage in pos-
itive politics, the public
accepts it. But if you do
negative politics, the
public considers it just a
political game. The mid-
dle class has completely
shifted towards the BJP.
Now, the challenge be-
fore the BJP is to fulfil
the aspirations of the
middle class. If their ex-
pectations aren?t met,
they will go back to
where they were before.
What do you think
about BJP candidate
Parvesh Verma, who de-
feated Kejriwal, insisting
that he would contest the
election against Kejriwal
himself?
It was his courage and
conviction ? very im-
pressive and encourag-
ing. I remember hearing
that Amit Shah advised
him to contest from
somewhere else, or else
he might lose. But
Parvesh Verma replied,
?I will contest from here
and show that I can win.?
And he did. Such cour-
age and conviction de-
serve praise. Now, his
claim to become the
Chief Minister should be
taken seriously. A person
with such courage and
commitment deserves a
big opportunity.
How did even promi-
nent leaders like Kejri-
wal and Sisodia lose in
this shameful defeat of
the Aam Aadmi Party?
They lost because the
public now votes deci-
sively. Arvind Kejriwal?s
image was so dismantled
by Narendra Modi that he
was no longer capable of
contesting an election.
He faced such serious
corruption charges that
his personality was de-
stroyed. Sisodia?s loss
should be seen in the
same context. Although
he was considered a bet-
ter candidate than Kejri-
wal, he still lost. A Jaipur-
based astrologer, Kumar
Ganesh, had already pre-
dicted that both would
lose. But astrology aside,
the fundamental reason is
that Kejriwal?s image
was completely ruined.
He had to pay the politi-
cal price for standing
against Narendra Modi.
While the BJP?s mas-
sive victory is one thing,
was this election a kind
of referendum on Kejri-
wal?
You could say that. There
are two things. Firstly,
did the vote go in favour
of Narendra Modi?s face?
The answer to this is Yes.
Secondly, was it a nega-
tive referendum against
Kejriwal? Yes, again.
Narendra Modi?s face
dominated the election.
You can think of it like
this: On Holi, when
someone?s face is cov-
ered with colours, it be-
comes hard to recognise
them. BJP turned Kejri-
wal?s face into one cov-
ered in colours, and now
it will take time for him
to clean it off. This elec-
tion was truly a negative
referendum. But that
wasn?t the only reason.
The lack of an alliance
between Congress and
the Aam Aadmi Party
was also a major reason.
Second, Kejriwal?s nega-
tive personality and the
corruption charges were
the main factors behind
his defeat. The biggest
reason was the confron-
tation with Narendra
Modi, which led to Kejri-
wal?s destruction.
Why did the relation-
ship between Rahul Gan-
dhi and Kejriwal break
down at the last mo-
ment? And how did the
Congress-AAP alliance
fall apart? Did Congress
take revenge for the de-
feat in Haryana?
It?s unfortunate for
both Kejriwal and Con-
gress. The breakdown is
due to the immaturity of
leaders from both sides.
Both parties were influ-
enced by their advisors,
which led to the collapse
of the alliance ? a gold-
en opportunity for the
BJP.
The immediate reason
for the alliance falling
apart was the situation in
Uttar Pradesh, where
Congress didn?t get seats
from Akhilesh Yadav,
forcing them to give only
friendly support. In Har-
yana, initial agreements
for six seats were made,
but opposition from lead-
ers like Ajay Maken and
Manmohan Singh led to
a breakdown. When Ke-
jriwal started gaining
support, Maken and oth-
ers criticized him, accus-
ing him of being anti-
national. This led to a full
breakdown of talks, with
Congress insisting they
wouldn?t fight elections
together, while Kejriwal
tried to salvage things by
contacting everyone in-
volved. Rahul Gandhi
felt left out, which hurt
him, leading to the col-
lapse of the alliance.
Congress now feels AAP
grew by taking their
votes, and they want to
reclaim those votes by
opposing AAP. However,
it?s unrealistic to think
AAP can be removed
from every state and ex-
pect the votes to return.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders
like Amit Shah and JP
Nadda are smiling, while
Modi watches the drama
unfold.
What impact will
Kejriwal?s loss in Delhi
have on Bhagwant
Mann?s government in
Punjab? Is it possible
that Bhagwant Mann
could switch sides and
join the BJP?
I don?t think Bhagwant
Mann will join the BJP.
Although such discus-
sions were there in the
past, it seems the BJP
didn?t push in that direc-
tion. Bhagwant Mann
doesn?t seem to have a
manipulative or oppor-
tunistic nature. However,
the stability of the Punjab
government could be im-
pacted. The BJP could try
to weaken Mann?s gov-
ernment. Some MLAs
may leave the party, and
Bhagwant Mann could
even form his own party.
In the worst-case scenar-
io, the President?s Rule
could be imposed.
But, I don?t think there
will be a major political
crisis in Punjab right now.
We have heard that
some Chief Ministers
played a big role in the
Delhi elections?
When Amit Shah plans a
program, he deploys the
whole team. He brought
in the Chief Ministers,
especially from North In-
dia ? the Chief Minis-
ters from Rajasthan,
Madhya Pradesh, and
Chhattisgarh came to
campaign. In addition,
the Chief Ministers from
Odisha, Assam, and even
Chandrababu Naidu were
brought in. Everyone
performed well. I closely
observed the Rajasthan
team. The Rajasthan
Chief Minister and Dep-
uty CM came, along with
Satish Poonia and Sunil
Bansal. The Rajasthan
leadership campaigned
here, and of the 11 seats
where the Rajasthan CM
campaigned, the BJP
won all of them.
The Rajasthan team
was much happy with
their success. Most Chief
Ministers contributed
successfully. Yogi Adity-
anath, in particular, is
always expected to per-
form well. He?s cam-
paigned in several states,
and his strike rate is im-
pressive. He?s consid-
ered the third major vote-
catcher after Narendra
Modi and Amit Shah. He
went to Haryana, Maha-
rashtra, and also Delhi.
His success rate is above
90%. In Rajasthan,
where he campaigned,
all 11 seats were won,
giving him a 100% suc-
cess rate. Yogi is still
Yogi. All the Chief Min-
isters contributed to the
best of their ability.
Many Chief Ministers
called the Prime Minister
to congratulate him, and
the Prime Minister ac-
cepted their congratula-
tions. He was in a very
good mood, meeting
people and receiving
congratulations on the
phone. It was a positive
and enthusiastic moment
in the party. Before Nar-
endra Modi?s foreign
trip, Amit Shah and JP
Nadda gave him a great
gift, saying, ?You can go
to America and France
with peace of mind.?

Reflecting on BJP?s massive comeback to power in Delhi, Dr Jagdeesh Chandra
discusses the challenges facing the newly elected BJP government in Delhi, focusing
on fulfilling campaign promises, particularly pollution control and cleaning the
Yamuna, to avoid the pitfalls of Kejriwal?s unfulfilled commitments. It highlights how
Modi?s budget relief for the middle class shifted key voters, and how Parvesh Verma?s
courage in defeating Kejriwal raised his profile as a potential CM candidate. Kejriwal?s
defeat is framed as a direct result of his tarnished image and the BJP?s successful
strategy, which also caused a breakup with Congress over an alliance. The
conversation touches on Bhagwant Mann?s stability in Punjab while noting the
pivotal role of regional Chief Ministers in the BJP?s election success in Delhi. (Part-II)

Mishra, Aditi Nagar, Shikha Thakur, Preeti Negi and
Ayush Singh during ?The JC Show.?
Modi breaks Kejriwal?s
?wall?... How do you see
this entire sequence of
events?
Dr Jagdeesh Chandra:
Prime Minister Narendra
Modi must be ecstatic.
During his trips to France
and America, you?ll no-
tice a special kind of vic-
torious smile on his face.
In Narendra Modi?s eyes,
the victory in Delhi is his
biggest triumph. For the
past 11 years, since be-
coming PM, there has
been a pain in his heart.
He conquered the world
but couldn?t win Delhi.
This time, before the elec-
tions, he called his chief
strategist and command-
er-in-chief, Amit Shah
and told him in clear
terms. The strategy will
be considered successful
only if we win Delhi this
time. Amit Shah took his
mentor Narendra Modi?s
advice very seriously. To-
day, the result is in front
of everyone. The ?wall?
that Kejriwal had built,
Modi has completely de-
molished it, broken it
down. You could say
Modi drove his bulldozer
on Kejriwal?s wall. The
interesting thing is that
today, people remember
Kejriwal?s warning. A
few years ago, he had said
that to defeat me, Naren-
dra Modi would need to
take birth again. Look at
where Narendra Modi is
today. Flying in AIR IN-
DIA ONE at 50,000 feet
and, look at Kejriwal
standing in the markets of
Chandni Chowk, looking
up at the same sky from
the ground. That?s why
it?s said - MODI BREAKS
Kejriwal?s ?WALL.?
What impact did
Narendra Modi?s ?AAP-
Da Hatao? slogan have
in this election?
It was a superhit narrative.
Narendra Modi is blessed
with Saraswati?s boon.
The ability to create new
narratives, craft them, and
propagate them. Whatev-
er he says, works. And this
one was a superhit, both
for the AAP party and for
the crisis. The day this
narrative was launched,
well-known advertising
companies said Narendra
Modi could very well run
a successful advertising
company. Even while be-
ing Prime Minister, he
creates excellent narra-
tives. His narrative was
very impressive, it reso-
nated with people and be-
came quite popular. I have
seen many people in
Jaipur and Delhi hum-
ming this narrative. It was
one of the most successful
narratives of Narendra
Modi?s political career. He
has created many narra-
tives, but this one was one
of the best.
What is Narendra
Modi?s new plan after
riding the Ashwamedh
horse of electoral victo-
ry? And what remains in
his political and personal
agenda?
Narendra Modi is indeed
on the Ashwamedh horse,
and there?s no one, either
in India or abroad, who
can stop his chariot now.
He is serving his third
term as Prime Minister,
with BJP and its allies in
power in 18 states, includ-
ing all four states in the
NCR. His major achieve-
ments, like the Ram Man-
dir and Article 370, have
been fulfilled. Looking
ahead, it seems Modi is
on a path toward becom-
ing a significant figure in
India?s future. According
to astrologers, the next 10
years of his life will be the
best, and he is expected to
remain Prime Minister for
at least that long. While
the opposition may grow
stronger in three years,
they will still not be able
to defeat him. Politically,
Modi?s agenda is focused
on a ?Developed India by
2047.? On a personal lev-
el, he has no agenda?he
lives a simple life. His
focus is zero, while his of-
ficial goal is to achieve a
developed India. The next
10 years will reveal how
he fulfils this vision, and
we will take pride in be-
ing citizens of a devel-
oped nation.
Is BJP?s victory in Del-
hi like a breath of fresh
air in city?s politics?
PM Modi himself said
that the people who came
to Delhi (AAP) had said
they would work above
politics, but they turned
out to be utterly dishonest.
He said politics can?t run
on false promises. PM
Modi also mentioned that
Anna Hazare must be
comforted now because
his disciple turned out to
be unworthy. His pain
must have been eased to-
day. There was a growing
atmosphere in Delhi about
corruption, pollution,
dirty drains, and bad
roads. People now have
hope that the old desires of
Delhiites will be fulfilled.
The double-engine gov-
ernment will meet the ex-
pectations of the people.
Narendra Modi
mentioned corruption in
AAP and said that what
was taken from Delhiites
must be returned. What
does this mean?
The meaning is very clear
that Narendra Modi?s
anti-corruption agenda
will accelerate. New ac-
tions will be taken against
AAP?s scandals that were
overlooked before. Old
cases will be pursued by
government agencies.
CAG?s 14 pending re-
ports will be presented in
the assembly, and action
will follow. Overall, the
next year will focus on
Modi?s anti-corruption
agenda regarding AAP.
That?s why he said what
has been earned must be
returned to the people.
As the capital of the
country and an interna-
tional capital with
Embassies, international
media, and the interna-
tional community, what
message does BJP?s
victory in Delhi send to
all these groups?
This victory goes beyond
the boundaries of New
Delhi. Embassies, inter-
national media, and inter-
national agencies send
messages and assess-
ments to their respective
nations. The message
they are sending is clear
and simple: India now
has a very strong Prime
Minister, one who can
win anything, one who
can defeat anybody. This
sends a strong message
about Narendra Modi?s
aura, about India?s lead-
ership, and it?s a strong
message that has gone
across the country and to
foreign nations.
How effective was Amit
Shah?s political strategy
in the Delhi elections?
And how did he help
fulfil Narendra Modi?s
dream of bringing a BJP
government to Delhi?
Amit Shah made a sig-
nificant contribution to
the Delhi elections. Under
Narendra Modi?s supervi-
sion, he was the ?man of
the match.? Modi set the
challenge, gave him the
target, and entrusted him
with the responsibility,
which Amit Shah accept-
ed and executed with full
force. His strength lies in
completing whatever re-
sponsibility he takes on.
He emphasized the impor-
tance of delivery in life,
and at the end of the day,
Amit Shah is a big ?deliv-
ery man? in the country.
His strategy focused more
on ground-level work
rather than just narratives.
He focused on man-to-
man and house-to-house
outreach, utilizing the
party?s organisational ex-
perience and focusing on
workers. This strategy has
shown results today.
Some people say that
in the last few months,
Amit Shah has been add-
ing flexibility to his
tough ruler image. How
do you see this change?
That?s a brilliant observa-
tion, and it?s true. This
change in Amit Shah?s
personality is quite evi-
dent. Earlier, his expres-
sions made him seem al-
ways angry, and people
wondered if they could
even talk to him. But now,
his personality shows
more flexibility. The me-
dia is also happy with
him; he sits, converses,
and engages in normal
dialogues. The most im-
portant thing is that his
personality is evolving
from a tough administra-
tor to a statesman. Re-
cently, when he went to
Prayagraj for a Ganga
bath, his pictures showed
an increasing acceptabil-
ity towards him. After
Narendra Modi, Amit
Shah?s popularity and ac-
ceptance are rising. Being
a tough administrator is
one thing, but gaining
public acceptability is an-
other. I think he?s learning
tips from his mentor, Nar-
endra Modi, which is why
we are seeing this new
version of him.
Who will be the new
Chief Minister of Delhi?
Will there be a Deputy
CM? Could a Dalit lead-
er be appointed as CM
or Deputy CM?
Firstly, the BJP today is
different from the one dur-
ing Atal Bihari Vajpayee
or Advani?s time, where
caste played a role in
choosing leaders like
Madan Lal Khurana or Su-
shma Swaraj. This is
Modi, Shah, and Nadda?s
BJP, where decisions are
made differently. Choos-
ing a Chief Minister is like
choosing a mini Prime
Minister. There have been
meetings between JP Na-
dda and Amit Shah and
probably informal discus-
sions with the PM. Various
models are being studied.
It is being said that the new
CM should not be high-
profile or a ?power centre?
but someone who can rep-
resent the future of poli-
tics. Factors like caste, re-
ligion, efficiency, and po-
litical strategy influence
the decision. The selection
of Delhi?s CM is a signifi-
cant exercise, and the oath
is expected around Febru-
ary 14-15 after PM Modi?s
return. The natural name
being discussed is Parvesh,
who defeated Kejriwal.
However, he has been be-
having like a CM recently,
and the high command has
advised him not to present
himself as one yet. Names
like Vijender and Rekha
Gupta are also being dis-
cussed. But with Modi and
Shah?s secrecy, a surpris-
ing face could emerge.
One thing is clear: the CM
will be a legislator; no one
will be parachuted in. The
BJP will likely appoint a
Dy CM based on caste,
region, experience, and
strategy. A Dalit CM is
possible, but the top candi-
date lost the election, and
another Dalit who joined
from Congress might face
questions. While possible,
predicting Modi or Shah?s
decision is difficult. The
final choice will depend
on political calculations
and remains uncertain.
What were the main
reasons behind Kejri-
wal?s downfall and
BJP?s return to power
after 27 years in Delhi?
The biggest reason for Ke-
jriwal?s downfall was his
direct confrontation with
Narendra Modi. This elec-
tion was Modi vs Kejri-
wal, and Kejriwal was
destined to lose. Modi
showed immense moral
courage, led from the
front, and campaigned by
asking for votes as the
CM. On the other hand,
Modi destroyed Kejri-
wal?s image and personal-
ity, once known for his
honesty, with scandals
like the liquor scam. Ke-
jriwal couldn?t stand up to
Modi. The biggest reason
was the battle between
Modi and Kejriwal, with
Kejriwal bound to lose.
Another factor was Kejri-
wal?s failure to ally with
Congress, which could
have changed the situa-
tion. The middle-class
shift from AAP to BJP,
anti-incumbency, and
governance issues like
poor water supply, roads,
drainage, & pollution also
played a role. BJP intro-
duced better freebies than
AAP, like Rs 2,500 for
women and Rs 10 lakh
health coverage. Kejri-
wal?s neglect of AAP
workers, who felt ignored,
contributed as well. Ulti-
mately, it was Modi?s
strategy against Kejri-
wal?s fate, leading to his
downfall.

In the latest offering of the JC Show, Dr Jagdeesh Chandra decodes that BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi?s
victory in Delhi marks a significant political milestone, breaking Arvind Kejriwal?s stronghold. Dr Chandra further
states that with the mastermind strategies of Amit Shah, his mentor Modi?s narrative, like ?AAP-Da Hatao,?
resonated deeply with voters, contributing to a decisive win. He stresses that this victory is a reflection of Modi?s
enduring influence, bolstered by his anti-corruption stance and the promise of a developed India by 2047, as
Modi?s leadership and Shah?s effective ground-level strategy not only shattered Kejriwal?s political image but
also shifted middle-class support toward the BJP. The defeat of AAP is attributed to Kejriwal?s confrontations
with Modi, governance issues, and the BJP?s superior promises, ensuring a fresh political landscape in Delhi.

a transformative journey for the dynamic
model, Sushmita Puri, hailing from Bikaner, Ra-
jasthan. Raised in the small town of Lunkaransar,
Sushmita always dreamed of being in the spotlight,
drawing inspiration from the actresses she admired on
TV. Her deep passion for dancing and modelling fueled her ambition, with self-
expression through these art forms playing a pivotal role in her success.
Despite the challenges she faced, including public expectations and navigating
the competitive industry, her family’s unwavering support kept her motivated and
grounded. "Staying focused was key during the competition. I reminded myself of
my dreams and the reasons I started this journey. My passion for dancing and mod-
elling kept me energized, and the encouragement from my family and friends helped
me stay positive," she shares.
A pivotal moment came after the pageant when she had the chance to work
with her mentor, Pawan Tank, the Founder and Director of Miss and Mrs India
Glam. “His belief in my potential and his guidance were instrumental in shap-
ing my career,” she says. This mentorship not only bolstered her confidence
but also opened new doors of opportunity in the modelling world.
She recently had a photoshoot in Udaipur, the lake city of Rajasthan,
drawn to its breathtaking beauty and cultural heritage. “The serene
lakes and stunning architecture provided the perfect backdrop
for celebrating my pageant win. The colours and scenery re-
flected the joy I felt after reaching this milestone,” she ex-
plains.
Looking ahead, the model is excited about her upcoming
projects, including two songs where she plays the lead ac-
tress. "These opportunities allow me to explore my passion
for performing arts and connect with my audience in new
ways," she says. With each step, she continues to inspire
others, proving that hard work, determination,
and support can turn dreams

he Maha
Kumbh being
held in Praya-
graj after 144
years is being
discussed all over the world
because about 48 crore peo-
ple are expected to partici-
pate here. Meanwhile, the
unique fair being held at the
Triveni Sangam of Mahi,
Som and Jakham rivers for
three hundred years at the
very ancient pilgrimage Be-
neshwar Dham, located near
Sabla town in Dungarpur
district of Vagad region in
the Udaipur division of
southern Rajasthan, adjacent
to the border of Banswara
district, is also in the news.
The rich folk culture and
unmatched traditions of the
tribals are seen in Beneshwar
fair. Lakhs of tribals and peo-
ple of all other communities
from states like Rajasthan,
Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh
participate in this grand fair.
On the day of the main fair
on Magh Purnima, lakhs of
devotees take a bath in the
Triveni Sangam along with
the palanquin of Mahant, the
successor of Mavji Maharaj
and the royal bath. There-
fore, Beneshwar Dham is
also called ‘Prayagraj of Va-
gad’. Its importance for the
tribal community is consid-
ered to be greater than any
Maha Kumbh.
Beneshwar Dham is the
center of spirituality and un-
wavering faith of the entire
society along with the tribals.
Beneshwar and Mahi Sagar
are also mentioned in the Ve-
das, Puranas and many other
texts. It is a legend that all the
predictions of the Agamavani-
yas and Chopra (Granth) writ-
ten by Saint Mavji Maharaj,
who did penance in Benesh-
war and was the immaculate
Krishna incarnation, 300
years ago, are proving to be
true today. Three hundred
years ago, Mavji Maharaj had
predicted the launch and flight
of rockets in space.
Along with this,
the most talked
about predic-
tions made
by Mavji
Maharaj
three dec-
ades ago in
the local Va-
gadi language
like “Parie Paani
Vaisaye” i.e. water
will be sold by weight and
“Dorie Deeva Lagshe” i.e. di-
yas (bulbs) will be put on
wires (cords) and “Dhere-
Dhere Ghori Bandashe” i.e.
there will be vehicles in every
house etc. have proved to be
true and are still narrated in the
form of proverbs in Vagadi.
There is mention of Pan-
davas visiting Beneshwar
during their exile in Vedas,
Puranas and scriptures. Sim-
ilarly, Beneshwar is also
considered to be the place of
penance of the very power-
ful Barbarik (son of Ghatot-
kach), the great-grandson of
Bhima, along with King
Bali, Valmiki Rishi and
Saint Mavji. Today, crores
of people worship Barbarik
as Khantu Shyam Ji, who
witnessed the entire Mahab-
harata war through the Leela
of Lord Shri Krishna.
According to mythologi-
cal facts, King Bali had per-
formed a yajna at Benesh-
war Dham and Lord Vishnu,
taking the form of Vaman,
had placed his third step
here and sent Bali to the
netherworld. It is believed
that due to this, a deep pit
Abudarra was formed
in Beneshwar,
whose size is
considered to
be immense
and people
also consid-
er it to be the
path to the
netherworld.
In the past
years, some sur-
vey work was also
done to find out the hidden
mysteries of this Abudarra
in which it is said that infor-
mation about many ancient
remains was found.
According to the facts
mentioned in the scriptures,
Mahi Sangam situated at
Beneshwar is also the fa-
vourite place of Lord Brah-
ma and Narad ji. They set-
tled Brahmins here and
called this place a secret re-
gion. It is also said that the
Vagad region is the flower
region where the gods re-
joice. It is also believed that
the Kalki avatar of Kalyug
will also appear in this Dev
Bhoomi. In Beneshwar,
there are temples of Brahma,
Vishnu and Mahesh along
with other gods and saints.
After Pushkar, Brahma is
worshipped in temples in
Beneshwar and Chheench
(Banswara).
The people of Vagad re-
gion along with the tribal
community consider Be-
neshwar as their Prayagraj
and the huge fair held on
Magh Purnima is considered
as the Kumbh of Vagad. The
tribals here, with the wish of
salvation for their de-
ceased relatives, offer
their tribute and Jalan-
jali to them by perform-
ing Tripinda Shraddha
Tarpan and other Uttar
Kriyas with
traditional
and religious
rituals at
the Sangam
Tirtha
Sthal located at Abudarra.
This sequence of immersion
of ashes, which starts early
in the morning with sunrise,
reaches its climax by after-
noon. One special thing seen
in the religious rituals held
here is that along with men,
women also complete these
religious rituals by getting
into waist-deep water in Ma-
hisangam.
Beneshwar Dham is the
confluence of three districts
of Southern Rajasthan, Dun-
garpur, Banswara and
Udaipur along with three
states Rajasthan, Madhya
Pradesh and Gujarat. The
grand fair held here every
year on Magh Purnima be-
tween the winter and spring
seasons is as famous
as the Pushkar Fair
and other holy
fairs of the coun-
try. Initially, this
fair was un-
known and un-
disclosed,
but over
time, Be-
neshwar Fair
has created
its own distinct identity on
the world tourism map for
the last few decades.
Beneshwar Dham, situ-
ated at the mouth of Som-
Mahi-Jakham (extinct) riv-
ers, is the place of penance
of folk saint Mavji Maharaj,
‘Bene ka Tapu’. A unique
confluence of faith, devo-
tion and culture, this fair is
visited by lakhs of devotees
from Rajasthan as well as
the entire country, especial-
ly from the neighbouring
states of Gujarat, Madhya
Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Although this fair starts
with the hoisting of the flag,
the number of devotees
reaching the main fair held
from Gyaras to Magh
Purnima is very high. Vari-
ous cultural and sports pro-
grammes, exhibitions etc.
are organised during the fair
for three days under the
joint aegis of the District
Administration, Tribal Area
Development Department
and Tourism Department.
In this world-famous Va-
gad Prayag fair, which is
known for the specialities of
its primitive culture, the
tribal people dressed in tra-
ditional attire and dancing
and singing in carefree joy
fill the air with the colours
of joy through their folk
songs. Also, the glimpse of
the multicoloured culture
with the crowds on the
banks of the Sangam spread
over several square kilome-
tres is very attractive and
worth seeing.
These days, Beneshwar
Dham has become the fa-
vourite pilgrimage of the
leaders of the centre and the
state and Prime Minister
Narendra Modi to all other
national leaders have visited
this holy place.
For the overall develop-
ment of Beneshwar Dham,
the state governments that
have come to power here
from time to time have done
many development works
and like other centres of pub-
lic faith, a project has been
prepared and sent to the cen-
tral government to build a
scenic corridor here too. In
the past years, after the reno-
vation of the Radha Krishna
temple situated at Benesh-
