7. Otanes (Old Persian Utâna ):  Persian nobleman, one of the seven conspirators who killed the Magian usurper Gaumâta and helped Darius I the Great become king  (29 September 522 BCE). Several years later, he added the Greek island Samos to the Achaemenid Empire. Megabyzus (flourished 5th century bc ) was  one of the greatest generals of the ancient Achaemenid Empire of Persia . He was the son of  Zopyrus  and the brother-in-law of King Xerxes I. Darius I (born 550 bc —died 486) was the  king of Persia in 522–486 bc , one of the greatest rulers of the Achaemenid dynasty, who was noted for his administrative genius and for his great building projects.
