DEFINITION Quality Assurance is a program that guarantees quality patient care by tracking outcomes through scheduled reviews Quality assurance is the process of verifying or determining whether the products or services meet or exceed the customers expectations. Guidelines are developed for all the processes and when formally adopted becomes the QA Program. Quality Assurance is the monitoring of activities of clients to determine the degree of excellence attained in the implementation of the activities.

Quality Assurance in Nursing and Midwifery is a pledge to the public by Nurses and Midwives that they will work toward the goal of optimal achievable degree of excellence in the service rendered to every patient.
