We start our class on time so we can end on time. RULE 1: BE ON TIME and ATTEND OUR CLASS REGULARLY Your presence is important in our class. So, avoid absences.
Raise your hand and wait to be acknowledged. RULE 2: RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION
RULE 3: LISTEN TO THE PERSON TALKING IN FRONT It's important to refrain from interrupting others while they are speaking.
RULE 4: BE PARTICIPATIVE Work effectively with your group members and classmates through collaboration.
RULE 5: BE PREPARED Remember to bring all necessary materials to class. Be prepared by reading in advance the lesson for the day.

GRADE 9 LEVEL STANDARDS The learner demonstrates communicative competence through his/ her understanding of British-American Literature, including Philippine Literature and other texts types for a deeper appreciation of Philippine Culture and those of other countries.
GRADE 9 LEVEL CONTENT STANDARDS The learner demonstrates understanding of how Anglo-American literature and other text types serve as means of enhancing the self; also, how to use processing, assessing, summarizing information, word derivation and formation strategies, appropriate word order, punctuation marks and interjections to enable him/her to participate actively in a speech choir.
GRADE 9 LEVEL PERFORMANCE STANDARDS The learner actively participates in a speech choir through using effective verbal and non-verbal strategies based on the following criteria: Focus, Voice, Delivery, Facial Expressions, Body Movements/ Gestures and Audience Contact.
QUARTER 1 MOST ESSENTIAL LEARNING COMPETENCIES (MELCs) Express permission, obligation, and prohibition using modals; Use conditionals in expressing arguments; and Employ the appropriate communicative styles for various situations (intimate, casual, conversational, consultative, frozen).
