About This Presentation

Evaporation step counter work. I have done a physical experiment.
(Work in progress.)

Planning out a Circuit simulator in JavaScript, for a step counter Sharon Liu. 2020/12/23-2024/05/20.

Battery simulation Principles The battery discharges, at an ever decreasing rate, when the on-off switch, in the pendulum subcircuit, is switched on. Whatever energy is left, is discharged, when the on-off switch, in   the resistor display subcircuit, is switched on. The battery energy, has to be calibrated.

Display resistor simulation Equation or principles The rate of water electrolysis, or evaporation, is proportional to the current from the battery. The rate of evaporation, is also proportional to the surface area to volume ratio, of the droplet. In the experiment, we need to confirm whether there is a noticeable difference, in evaporation, when there is a current.

Notes Use water droplets, as a fast science experiment. What about environmental concerns? Investigate what happens, when electrons are lost from a bicarbonate of soda solution. Recharge the battery, with a current from a moving magnet.

Four years later... a quick update. A while ago, I prototyped a step counter, which was supposed to count 3000 steps, to within 5% accuracy, either side. The results were that, I achieved maybe a 19% error, with 3000 steps. Therefore, there was maybe a 10% error, to either side. I did this experiment, in 2021. 3000 steps were not fully counted, but I know how to increase the accuracy of the step counter prototype. (Just use more drops of water, simultaneously.) The prototype, is only for indoor use, and you need to keep looking at the drops, to count the steps, as the step counter relies on evaporation. The actual results, were that in 5 minutes, I had counted 194 and 252 steps.
