My Topic Virtual laboratory and haptic technology
Virtual LAB definition A virtual lab is actually a website or software for interactive learning based on simulation of real phenomena. It allows students to explore a topic by comparing and contrasting different scenarios, to pause and restart application for reflection and note taking , to get practical experimentation experience over the internet .
Objectives of virtual lab To provide remote- access to labs in various disciplines of science and engineering. To enthuse students to conduct experiments by arousing their curiosity. To share costly equipment and resources, which are otherwise available to limited number of users due to constraints on time and geographical distances To provide a complete learning management system around the virtual labs where students can avail the various tools for learning , including additional web resources, video lectures, animated demonstrations and self evaluation .
Three kinds of virtual lab Remote Triggered labs Measurement Based labs Simulation/ Modeling Based labs
Benefits of virtual lab: There are so many needs of virtual lab , a few are listed below Better Immersion :one can learn concepts through an immersive visual experience that can make the whole learning process more impactful. It also give a futuristic equipment and offer students of all ages easy access to cutting edge technology for the purpose of experimentation. Tools like simulations and virtual Microscope and lab provide futuristic solutions . A virtual lab is more effective because that equipment software can be built however expensive the actual cost is. Engage student immensely : The virtual lab engage students immensely. Virtual labs help instructors capture the attention of learner’s by helping them to test all those procedures in an online setup easily. Offer instant feedback : A major advantage of virtual labs is that it help to recreate experiment . Anyone can analyze their mistakes, find out what went wrong and try to experiment once again. Allows Flexibility : Students can also access the laboratory on any device from any location , making them indispensable for contactless learning. Better Student safety: students can try various kinds of experiments in virtual labs free of the risk of injuring themselves or damaging the equipment's . It also provide an effective way to avoid laboratory accidents. Affordable as compared to physical Labs : Online or virtual labs are far less expensive, preservation, and maintained of the same development.
Conjecture With the ever changing educational landscape educators are always exploring new ways to improve their online processes. Virtual labs are amazing digital resources that help save costs as well as improve student productivity. They also allow students to take part in school work from any location and combine the ease and convenience of use offered by the modern technology seamlessly. While virtual labs are still in need of some improvements to identically reproduce the experience of physical laboratories , it won’t be wrong to say that they are definitely not going anywhere any time soon.
HapTic Tecnology Introduction Haptics, is the technology of adding the sensation of touch and feeling to computers. W hen virtual objects are touched , they seem real and tangible. Haptics sense links to the brain’s sensing position and movement of the body by means of sensory nerves within the muscles and joints .
All about Haptics...... Derived from Greek word ‘ haptikos’ meaning “ ABLE TO COME INTO CONTACT WITH” Haptics = Touch= Connection Touch is at the core of personal experience . Of the five senses , touch is the most proficient , the only one capable of simultaneous input and output. In the early 1990s a new usage of the word Haptics began to emerge The confluence of several emerging technologies made virtualize d Haptics or computer Haptics possible

Future visions and conclusion Holograpic Interaction Medical Application Textile Industry The feedback allows the user to interact with hologram. Machine setup , patient preparation ,use of central workstation from which the surgeons would perform , all these are medical Application. Textile user can study and feel the quality of cloth through internet Future generations of mobile devices and game console accessories will implement more haptic feedback. Continued implementation of haptic devices to aid people with disabilities will advance further perhaps also in desktop computers and laptops .
