AUXILIRY (33KV) & TRACTION (25 KV) POWER SUPPLY SCHEME IN DMRC BY – ASHISH ARORA DGM/ELECT 3 RD OCTOBER 2013
TRACTION (25Kv, 1-phase) – TO RUN THE TRAINS AUXILIARIES (33KV, 3-phase stepped down to 415V, 3-phase) – TO POWER ALL THE OTHER FACILITIES OF STATION LOADS – LIGHTING, VENTILATION, AC, LIFTS, ESCALATORS, ETC. ELECTRIC POWER IN METRO SYSTEM IS REQUIRED FOR-
The Electric Power for METRO services from Grid is available and received - in DELHI at 220kV, or 66 kV In UP at 132 kV In Haryana at 132 kV, or 66 kV
The 3-PHASE Electric Power from the Grid at 220kV , or 132 kV, or 66 kV as available at that location is received in DMRC Substation, termed as - RECEIVING SUBSTATION (RSS)
The above received 3-phase Power at 220kV or 132 kV or 66 kV in RSS is then stepped down to In Traction Substation (TSS) – 25kV 1-phase for powering the trains through OHE In Auxiliary Main Substation (AMS) – 33kV 3 phase to supply power to 33kV power supply Cable network to feed Auxiliary Substations (ASS) in each of the Metro stations.
