SUNDARLAL BAHUGUNA Sunderlal Bahuguna (born 9 January 1927) is a noted Garhwali environmentalist, leader of Chipko Movement and a follower of Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence and satyagraha

For years he has been fighting for the preservation of forests in the Himalayas, first as a member of the Chipko Movement in the 1970s, and later spearheaded the Tehri Dam movement starting 1980s, to early 2004.

Jadav payenge His contribution as an environmentalist entails creating a 550 hectare long man-made forest all by himself. At present, the forest encompasses 1360 hectares of area and a variety of wildlife. Also known as the ‘Forest man of India’.

Sunita Narain In 2012, she wrote the 7th State of India's Environment Reports, Excreta Matters, an analysis of urban India's water supply and pollution. Over the years,  she has also developed the management and financial support systems needed for the Centre, which has over 100 staff members and a dynamic program profile.

Anil  Kumar  Agarwal   Anil Kumar Agarwal (23 November 1947– 2 January 2002) was an Indian environmentalist, trained as a mechanical engineer at IIT Kanpur, worked as a science correspondent for the Hindustan Times . He was the founder of the Centre for Science and Environment, a Delhi-based research institute currently led by Sunita Narain .
