●LB – Line Backer, blitz against QB and run defense

This is a defense primarily against the run or used to
blitz the QB. Defense can blitz with 1 or both LB.
●LB must stop the run first
●If a LB is not blitzing he covers middle.
This is a defense primarily against the pass. LB
plays run first or if there is no hand-off or no offensive
player lined up at running back, the LB covers the
short middle The coach or captain can also signal
the LB to blitz.
S drops back in to the second deep zone, or covers
the middle in the event of a blitz or read run.Legend
