ABOUT THE COMPANY Super Engineering Company was a multi- locational light engineering company. It has manufacturing facilities at Hyderabad , Pondicherry and Indore. Hyderabad is the biggest of these three unit. The company adopted budgetary system with main emphasis on production and expense budgets. The budget targets used to be set on the basis of analyse of production facilities and production operations.

BASIC ISSUES The manufacturing units of Hyderabad and Pondicherry were working properly and were able to meet their budget target but the unit located at Indore was not able to do so. The Reason is Ineffective management and supervisions of employees. Ineffective job performance Lack of Communication between employee and superior, this leads to no proper instructions to employees. Employee are not working properly because proper strategic intent was not set and lack of knowledge about responsibility.

ABOUT THE UNIT MANAGER Mr. P. Manohar was the plant manager of Indore manufacturing unit He joined the company about eight years before as engineer trainee and becomes the assistant plant manager at Hyderabad unit. After that he was transferred to Indore unit as plant manager .

LEADERSHIP QUALITY OF P . MANOHAR He was very ambitious and a little bit autocratic. He was a quick observer. He believes in the exercises of authority and control to carry out his instructions. He was high achiever, Believes in getting things done. He was goal oriented

CHANGE PROCESS After joining at Indore unit as plant manager, He analyze the plant and issues instructions to all department, that To reduce their expanses by 5% To increase production by 10% Instructed all supervisors to strictly adhere to budgets Introduced several new reports and watched the operations very closely Suspend two supervisors as they could not meet the budget targets

RESULTS The company reach the budget target within 6 month and prepare a new budget report for the company. The company exceeded new budget figure by 8% The company will work properly and the Indore unit is also in right track

ANSWER-1 The type of organizational climate created by Manohar at Indore units are. Goal Oriented Rule Oriented Interpersonal Relationship between top authority and lower level employees Risk Taking

ANSWER-2 Reasons for drop in productivity at the unit after Mr.Manohar left the Indore unit Firstly, Autocratic leadership may be helpful for many situations ,for instance it handles crisis situation effectively by taking fast decision without involvement of lower level . But this is not best for all scenerio because this style highly dependent upon leader. Poor Supervision Not having Proper work structure Carelessness about Regulations Inconsistency

CONCLUSION The Super Engineering Company located at the 3 place from that Indore unit was not able to meet the target set by the company. By joining Mr. P. Manohar gives more efforts on meeting the budget target so that the Indore unit was back in right track. After that company decided to call back P. Manohar to Hyderabad manufacturing unit. But due to the disadvantages autocratic leadership style again the productivity at Indore unit fell below the earlier level and budget was again in trouble
