Remember Materials that do not absorb water and are made of plastic , metal , rubber or glass are called non-absorbent materials. O bjects that absorb water and are made of cloth or wood are called absorbent materials .

Remember A bsorbent materials absorb water or liquids because they have tiny holes called pores. Water passes through these tiny holes. Examples are cloth , sponge , jeans or pants , foam , pillows , bread , and more.
