About P.V. Sindhu Full name – Pusarla Venkata Sindhu Date of Birth – 5 July 1995 Sport – Badminton Parents - Volleyball Players Enter in sports – At the age of 6 Famously known - For silver medal won in the 2016 Summer Olympics at Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. At the age of 10 - Won many national and international competitions.
About her career 2009 - 11 Sindhu entered the international circuit at a young age of 14. She i s a bronze medalist at the 2009 Sub-Junior Asian Badminton Championships held in Colombo. She won the silver medal in the singles category at the 2010 Iran Fajr International Badminton . She reached in the quarterfinals of the 2010 BWF World Junior Championships held in Mexico.
About her Career 2012 At 16-year-old Sindhu went on to compete at the all England Open Championships. She won Asian Junior Championships beating Japanese Player Nozomi Okuhara. In the Li Ning China Masters Super Series tournament she stunned London 2012 Olympics gold medalist Li Xuerui, beating her and entered the semi-finals.
About her career 2013 - 15 She won Malaysian title . This was her first Grand Prix Gold title. Sindhu reached the final of 2014 India Open Grand Prix Gold but lost to her senior compatriot Saina Nehwal . At the 2015 World Championships, she reached in the quarterfinals.
About her career 2016 - 17 Sindhu won the Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold women's singles title. Sindhu won Syed Modi International final. In the India Open Super Series , she won the title by defeating Carolina Marin in straight games. She won silver medal in the 2016 Summer Olympics at Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. In April 2017, she achieved a career-high world ranking of number 2.
About her career 2018 - 19 Sindhu joined Hyderabad Hunters in the PBL. She reached in the final of the Indian National Badminton Championship where she lost to three-time champion Saina Nehwal . S he had ended her deal with Yonex and signed a mega-deal with Li-Ning for 4 years. She reached in the final of Indonesia Open, where she lost to Akane Yamaguchi of Japan.
About her career 2020 - 21 Sindhu reached her first final at the Swiss open. S he was elected as one of the two ambassadors from badminton in the International Olympic Committee's campaign ‘Believe in Sport’ aimed at preventing competition manipulation in the sport. Sindhu bounced back from a semifinal defeat to cruise past Bing Jiao 21-13, 21-15 in straight games and won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympic 2020.
