03 1`w2x Research Questions 1. What are the reading levels of the Grade VI -Earth pupils? 2. Is there a significant difference in the pretest and posttest scores of pupils using the leveled-reading materials? 3. What is the percentage of pupils with enhanced reading level?

Features of the Materials 1. Written in English and Filipino 2. Divided into three levels (Beginning, Developing and Advanced) ***Filipino: Beginning; open and closed syllable words Developing: long sentences (with questions) Advanced: long sentences and stories ***English Beginning: basic sight words, short and long vowel sounds Developing: sentences and paragraphs(with questions) Advanced: stories (with questions) 04 INNOVATION LEVELED READING MATERIALS “NAKABABASA NA AKO” and “NOW I CAN READ”

Each pupil will be assessed on to what level does he belong to ---beginning, developing, or advanced Parents will be involved for more positive results. Photocopied materials will be distributed. There will be an everyday follow-up reading sessions during remedial hours. The postassessment willl be given to identify if there is a significant difference in the test scores and to find the percentage of the pupils with enhanced skill. 05 Intervention and Strategy pretest/ one-on-one assessment conference with parents distribution of materials according to their level post assesment

29 pupils in Grade VI Earth class at San Nicolas Elementary School TARGET PARTICIPANTS 1.one-on-one assessment 2. Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (PHIL IRI) tests 3. Researcher-made leveled reading books in English and Filipino. DATA GATHERING TOOLS and INSTRUMENTS 06 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

02 03 04 01 READING LEVEL IDENTIFICATION Researcher will conduct the one-on-one assessment using teacher-made leveled reading materials validated by three master teachers Post assessment and analysis Posttest will be administered t-test will be used to test if there is a significant difference of the pretest and posttest scores ASK PERMISSION Researcher will ask the permission of the principal through a formal letter . DISTRIBUTION OF MATERIALS Photocopied materials will be distributed after the parent-teacher conference. Daily assessment will be done during remedial hours 07 DATA GATHERING METHODS
