2. What is computer-assisted instruction ( CAI) "Computer-assisted instruction" (CAI) refers to  instruction or remediation presented on a computer . Many educational computer programs are available online and from computer stores and textbook companies. They enhance teacher instruction in several ways

3. FuNCtion of cOmputer assisted Instruction ( CAI) CAI is interactive in that it involves  two-way communication between a learner and a computer system . In some lessons the computer poses questions, the learner responds, and the computer presents feedback. In other lessons, the user initiates the interaction and the computer responds.

4. ADVANTAGE OF COMPUTER ASSISTED INStruction ( CAI Many of the advantages of PI are also advantages of CAI and web-based learning . The advantages of CAI include flexibility for students so that they can work at their own speed at the time that is best for them. With web-based instruction, they can work at home, at school, or anywhere there is a computer with an Internet connection . (See the example the next slide)

5. ADVANTAGE OF Computer assisted Instruction (CAI ) The immediate feedback provided by interactive terminals keeps students interacting and eager to keep trying. The Computer will wait patiently for an answer and will not express annoyance with wrong response .

6. The graphics facility is a powerful aid in enhancing intuition, especially in giving insight, into mathematical formulae. The novel technique provides enrichment of a course through added variety.

DIS-ADVANTAGE OF COMPUTER ASSISTED instruction ( CAI) Disadvantages include the need to own or have access to a computer with the necessary RAM and operating system , lack of computer skills of many students, Physical problems such as carpal-tunnel syndrome and eye disorders (caused by sitting in front of the computer screen for long periods of time without blinking), prohibitive cost of educational software, and the lack of human interaction in the lear
