An adverb is a word that describes the action. Eg : He works hard . Here the word hard describes how he works. Therefore it is an adverb .

The form of adverbs. Adverbs of Degree Adverbs of degree tell us about the intensity of something. Adverbs of degree are usually placed before the adjective, adverb, or verb that they modify, although there are some exceptions. Adverbs of frequency Adverbs of frequency show you how often something happens. This can be always 100% or never 0% These adverbs can go before the main verb or after a form of to be ( am /is / are/ was /were ) Eg : We usually play cricket in the evening. Tharutha is never late. The adverbs often , usually , sometimes and occasionally can go at the beginning of a sentence. Eg : Sometimes I go swimming. Put the adverb of frequency in the right place. 1. Adverbs of Manner Adverbs of manner tell us how something happens. They are usually placed either after the main verb or after the object Eg : He swim well . Saman ate the chocolate cake greedily . An adverb of manner cannot be put between a verb and its direct object. The adverb must be placed either before the verb or at the end of the clause . Eg : He gave us generously the money ( wrong ) He gave us the money generously. He generously gave us the money. Find the adverbs of manner in the following sentences. 1.
