COURSE TITLE: AI 2121: AI IN ACTION: EXPLORING APPLICATION AND IMPACT WEEK NO.3

Week 3: AI in Other Sectors Objectives; This module aims: To identify the uses of AI in other sectors; and To discuss AI in healthcare.

Week 3: AI in Other Sectors Autonomous vehicles, such as Tesla's autonomous vehicles, are transforming infrastructure and road safety, while AI is being used in sectors like hedge fund investment and banking for predictive analytics. These vehicles use machine learning and statistical methods to estimate future occurrences, such as stock prices and product sales.

Week 3: AI in Other Sectors AI is revolutionizing healthcare by assisting physicians in diagnosing illnesses, monitoring patients, and detecting issues. Forbes predicts AI will save over 7 million lives by 2035, utilizing millions of consumers' historical purchase data.

Week 3: AI in Other Sectors AI is increasingly used in retail, including chatbots for customer care and stock management, to enhance accuracy, productivity, and efficiency. Innovative AI-driven software, such as Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), has the potential to replace humans due to its impressive capabilities.

Week 3: AI in Other Sectors AI is revolutionizing various aspects of our lives, including GANs, GPT3, DALL.E, and VR/AR. AI-based software systems use advanced algorithms, automated reasoning tools, and fundamental models. Large-scale models like DALL.E and GPT3 have produced impressive results in computer vision and NLP.

Week 3: AI in Other Sectors An NLP model called the GPT3 is built using a deep learning approach known as transformers. It was released in 2020 and trained using a corpus of text from Common Crawl. To generate outputs based on the entered data, GPT3 makes use of a sizable dataset that has been trained in the English language. Any activity that can be imagined may be trained into the model, including text generation and math problem-solving.

Week 3: AI in Other Sectors The DALL.E model is an image generator that utilizes variational autoencoders (VAEs), a deep learning method. In a similar vein, pictures may be generated by DALL.E based on text descriptions by training them with an image dataset. It was released in 2021 after being trained on datasets like ImageNet. DALL.E may be used to create pictures that correspond with user-provided captions or URLs. The company that created these models, OpenAI, is closely associated with the US government and the military-industrial complex (MIC).

Week 3: AI in Other Sectors AlphaGo was developed by DeepMind as a software that could play the classic game of Go by itself. The game is comparable to chess, but because of its numerous movements every round and straightforward rule, it is far more complicated. AlphaGo learned how to employ reinforcement learning.   Facebook AI Research (FAIR) developed the algorithm RoBERTa , which applies deep learning methods to natural language processing (NLP) issues including machine translation and sentence categorization.
